As you may be aware, we have been discussing moving the Iron Heart Forum to a new platform for some time.

We have been working behind the scenes on developing a new version of the Iron Heart Forum on a platform called NodeBB. (Big shout out to the volunteers who helped us during the testing phase!)

We are glad to announce that the new forum is now ready. The migration will take place on Monday 6th of February at 1600GMT. To allow sufficient time for the migration to complete and for us to get everything ready behind the scenes, we will be closing the forum for a 24 hour period and aim to have it live the following day no later than 1700GMT on Tuesday 7th of February.

For security reasons, we cannot transfer your password information to the new platform. You will be sent a password reset link once the new forum is live. Rest assured, during this migration all your existing data will be transported to its new home, no information will be lost.

As the platform will be unfamiliar to many, we have created a number of 'How To' threads on the new forum, which will help you in familiarising yourself with NodeBB. The board containing these threads will be pinned to the top of the new forum, and we strongly recommend you read these first when visiting the forum for the first time.

@sabergirl it is so much easier to use, can literally upload photos from your phone in two clicks! So I am expecting everyone to up their selfie game

@Oaktavia the new platform has far better hosting too so there is a higher tolerance for file sizes you can upload, so less dicking around editing photos and just posting straight from mobile

Really impressed so far, only a very quick browse but I can already tell that this is a much more intuitive user experience. Well done, it’s a great upgrade to an already very enjoyable place.

I love the new contemporary look of the forum. I have been enjoying exploring about it. Is anyone else experiencing connection issues, though? I keep seeing the flashing "Looks like your connection to the Iron Heart Forum was lost..." in the corner, almost constantly. Hopefully this smooths over soon?

There is a known issue with the server, causing unstable connection, we're actively looking in to this as we speak
