IHSH-295-BB - 14oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt - Black/Black

I’m still confused if you’re talking about the width of the opening at the last snap, or the length of the placket below the last snap with the 2 cm thing. As for the “flare” it’s barely noticeable but I think it’s probably due to the width of your hips and different measurements at the opening of the shirt.

Here is a pic that is easy to relate to what I'm saying. It can be seen that the length here is 14.2 cm compared to ca. 11.5 cm to 12 cm on my other IH shirts and my question was is this the reason for the flare that I'm experiencing?
-
Okay. Thanks for clarifying.
So, the length of the placket is 2cm longer on this shirt. I don’t think this has anything to do with why the opening of the shirts hangs differently, but if it does, it would be because your body is wider at the place where that snap closes over the middle of you.
I expect that where the bottom snap is on the placket entirely depends on the overall length of any given shirt in your size when the pattern is drawn. I imagine this will vary, since the length of the different shirts also varies.

@the246guy do you have a picture of you wearing the shirt? Not a close up of the buttons. It gives us a better view of the shirt/flare. I personally have no flare in no mather what kinda IH shirt i wear. Also is your shirt around the length that is stated on the IHUK size chart of this particular shirt? Does this shirt fit tighter then your serge shirt? If your serge shirt is the around the same measurements as your 295 and it doesn’t flare then i would say there is something going on, but that’s just my 2 cents

I got it from IH Hamburg and I cannot say if the measurements are as per the charts here in IH UK. I will take a better picture of me wearing the shirt later today.
-
@the246guy if i’m not mistaken IH germany handels the same charts as IHUK

Just threw this shirt for a hot soak and as it gets dried, I can feel that it has gone stiffer than before. i'm in total love with this shirt. Can't wait for it to show some gray tones.

Have a kersey on the way because there hasn't been a restock on this….Still going to pick one up when it restocks.....any....day.....now

This shirt attracts more dust. Not an issue and I like the way it attracts dust. Is this a characteristic of the black color?
-
@the246guy it attracts dust the same as your blue kinda stuff but on black it’s more and directly visible:) how did the soak go?
-
@HalfPastNever kersey is awesome as well! Enjoy it

Yes, you are correct. With the black, the dust is more visible when compared against the blue. The soak did take a little bit of shrink on the length and now it kind of fits even better. The plan for me is to wear it as long as possible without any washing. The accumulation of dust makes it a bit unfavorable in office conditions. I will scuff them off carefully without causing artificial fades. Overall I really love this shirt, the sharpness of the black color is simple awesome.

@Oaktavia How do you normally get the dust or dog hair out from your shirt without washing? I had to do some cleaning work today and I forgot to take my shirt off and after an Hour or so, all of the dust was on my shirt. I used to take a damp cloth and wipe of any dust or any scuffs resulting from food falling over on my XHS, but that wiped off some blue from the fabric after which it resulted in an unwanted fade. I do not want the same on this shirt.

take those, works great

I've had success using a horse hair brush.

Hey man! I've been meaning to chime in earlier but have had a lot going on lately. I had a fucking fuckton of dust, dog hair (two golden retrievers), dead skin cells, anything dude you name it stick to my 295bb like super glue. It was frustrating to say the least because I chose to wear it as much as possible and that included wearing it to work. I would use lint rollers and lay my shirt out flat and roll the ever loving fuck out of it before I would go to bed each night. If I skipped a day, I used up to six roller sheets a night. It was a lot of dedication to just one shirt. But as you wear it and as it fades and after multiple washes, it gets much more manageable and less noticeable. So stick through it and after about six months, the results are fantastic.

@the246guy here are photos I took this morning of my 295bb. As you can see, after about 75-80 wears and 3 or 4 machine washes, the denim lightens up quite a bit. You can still see my golden retriever's fur on it here and there, but it is much less noticeable and so is everything else that clings to it. Also after washes, the denim texture changes to be less prone to showing debris. It like flattens out I suppose would be the way to describe it.

That shirt is perfection! I have a husky and GSD so I know the challenges. I do find when I get to a certain break-in point fur clings much less. Or at least comes off much easier.
-
Wow! That shirt is well worn. Thanks for the pictures. There is still a long way to go for you and a long long way to go for me with my 295.
