I'd like to layer this vest under my size L Sateen M65.
I'm thinking UHF/heavy shirt (I wear XL) +  Vest + M65 (L, with enough room).

Should I go size L or M with the vest? I'd like it to fit snugly and tight.

I've got last year's vest in the same size as my UHFs.  I believe Giles also went with his UHF size.  I wouldn't want to size down in this since it's snug enough as it is.  Remember, this vest is puffy so it will fit tighter than non-puffy shirts and jackets.  Also, they run a bit short and sizing down could cause problems with the length.

Would you recommend the same size as UHF or up one?  I dont need more outerwear but this vest and street parka are calling my name!

My choice fits perfectly:

UHF in size XL
Vest size L as per @Giles suggestion (thank you again!)
M65 size L

Is there a chance to see IHV-44 in other colours? I vaguely remember that it was available in Green last year (or that maybe just my memory fails me at this point).

Hi there.  We have only ever done black Primaloft, and Haraki says that is all he will do.  We do other colours in other padded fabrics, but not Primaloft….

Damn, I never thought I wanted a vest til the surprise GA version of this released yesterday. I uhmed and ahhed and missed my size in that. I never really look at the vest section of the IH site, always assumed they’re not really my bag. As a result, I haven’t taken notice of this item.

The pic of @Bailey has screwed me over, looks so sick. Only got enough cash for one thing right now and I was gonna grab some jeans, but this has put a spanner in the works. Decisions decisions.

This vest is, quite frankly, the nuts. Minus 2 Celsius hear today and the vest over a UHF and IH thermal was super warm without feeling bulky. Very happy to have one.

I decided to give outerwear vests a try this winter, and I've become a fan. I grabbed the GAH version, and I am amazed at how warm it is, especially considering it's weight/bulk, or lack thereof.

Absolutely getting the itch for one of these but having trouble deciding on size. I almost always wear a large in Western UHF and look for just over 22” p2p. If I want this thing to fit snug over a UHF so would a medium work? any help appreciated!

@SKT it is hard to say based on that but I would have thought you can stick with the same size. I am an XL in most UHFs, sometimes an L and I wear an XL in this vest, though it could be a little more snug. The large in the vest was a touch small. If large in UHFs are perfect size, I think you would need to stick to the same size in this vest.

@SKT There are none for me to grab in Japan for you sadly. They will be restocked but not until the back end of the year. Maybe try reaching out to the North American retailers who stocked them if you haven't already. Failing that, sign up for the restock notification and jump on them when they are back in

@SKT I am a little smaller than you with a ~41” chest and I wear either a largish large or small XL in UHFs. I have a large vest and it fits perfectly for me so I think it would be a hair snugger for you.

One of the six photos that sold me on the L size IHV-44-BLK.
@Bailey gave me all the key angles and shared his insights. We seem to have similar dimensions (although Alex is 100 times better looking). I ended up with a perfect piece to layer under.
In FW23 Im going for M to layer over it or even use as additional piece while diving warmer waters in dry suit when I don't need my super warm SANTI undergarment.
