All of the tell tale traits of living in a northern climate.  Tiled entry way for easy cleaning, lots of places to hang coats/jackets, storage space for hats/mitts, and a place to sit down and take off the snowy winter boots and to put on indoor shoes/slippers.

            Thank you Sam!

So after over a year of living here I can finally declare the living room/dining room finished (except for for a tiny area of 6x18cm, honour and glory if you spot it).

To be fair it has been 90% done for ages but the entré needed fixing before I could install the door and finish the threshold between living room and entré.

BEAUTIFUL home nearing the finish line. Clean without being antiseptic, modern but still warm and homey, practical, comfortable… I know it's been a long painful journey but you have a lot to be proud of @neph93

                Think it, be it.

@motojobobo ha… indeed, although it would need to be a triptych to fit everything in I’m afraid. It’s a great piece of art actually. Are you familiar with it?

@endo tysm… and well done that small piece of flooring has to wait for the cellar stairs to be renovated.

@mclaincausey if you ever go old skool fundamental LDS and take more wives you can have mine. I read her your post and she melted. Apparently that was exactly what she was going for. Idk, I’m just the hired help 😂

Pre-Xmas project and the last major job outside of the cellar.

Trying to save the OG stairway. Been stripping layers of paint varnish, carpet glue and god knows what else. Now I need to cut out a space for the wall profiles, then sanding, mounting the profiles and painting.

Staining is still on the cards. What you’re seeing is after two days of stripping and scraping. The wall profile is also necessary.

@neph93 Have you looked into infrared paint strippers? I actually have one (Speedheater 1100) and would be happy to let you borrow it if you want to cover shipping. It heats the paint to well below the temp that lead vaporizes and makes the process a bit easier although it's still not fun.
