@Heavy_blue you said you normally wear a size large right? Fit looks great. One thing I notice is the cuff opening looks kinda large in the product photos? Does it feel that way in person?

@Mizmazzle always have size Large, in UHF i have XL. The cuffs aren’t larger, but the denim is thick and has to settle from the folding out of the factory, due the shipping etc. My guess.

Congrats @Mizmazzle i feel you i’m a western boy as well, but for the change i grabbed a work shirt, also because the shoulder pattern took me a bit off in the western, work has a more clean look. But i must admit that the black western is tempting.. please share pics when it arrived! Cheers!

Well met gentlemen, I have a question. I am the proud owner of this and it's a little bigger around the torso than the other larges I have(IHSH-317-IND,IHSH-317-YEL,IHSH-290-RED,IHSH-290-KHA). I'm looking to shrink it a little without affecting the material too much. Would it be better to shrink from warm/hot water and hang dry or wash cold and put it a dryer? I love the material and would rather do nothing than risk damaging the shirt. Any insight would be apperciated.

I have been in this situation with some IH gear, shirts and pants, and mainly used the warm/hot water method. You could try 60°C first, hang dry, and if not enough shrinkage resulted repeat or increase to 80°C. By doing it in a tub you can be careful with the garment, I wouldn't recommend a washing machine here.

The problem with the dryer method is that it results in much more agitation and the fabric will loose dye. I only do this e.g. with flannels when I want them to be more fluffy again. Even then, be careful with the temperature and duration in the dryer.

I am in the exact same boat…I look forward to hearing feedback on this. I have a bunch of IH shirts (both Western and Work) and this 12oz Wabash in my usual Large fits me really well in the shoulders, chest, and arms, but the body is quite boxy and "bells out" quite a bit from a side profile. I am in love with the fabric and the overall look of the shirt, so any shrinkage would be a welcome improvement. I am thinking of doing a super hot soak and an air dry and then go from there. I would be OK with a little tightening of the shoulders and chest if I can reign in the body a little bit!

If that doesn't work, I will be using it as a light jacket over a thermal tee or even over a light flannel or my new 9oz Raised Whipcord. In any event, I am determined to make it work!

Finally bit the bullet and copped this shirt. VERY impressive warm-weather fabric, and I love the contrast red stitching detail. Gave mine a warm 40-min soak with 5 min of hand-agitation and it shrank about a half-inch in both directions, as expected. This will be the "jacket" that I'll wear on the plane to Hawaii next week.

As others have noted, the cut of this one is boxier than most of IH's other shirts, and that actually works out well for me. I wish that IH would make more classic fit tops like this. If you're a middle-aged dude with "dad bod," this shirt should be on your short list.

In mine opinion it’s also the material of a wabash shirt and the way of how the shirt is dyed that gives it a more bulky feel and look, the material is a little crispy and will stay that way, at least that’s mine opinion. Overall the shirt will shrink in length and chest as stated on the website with warm washes. Hopefully you guys find the right way to shrink it and will wear the hell out of them. Enjoy it buddies!

Somehow the buttons stayed in place and the fabric remained in tact but damn, I felt bad for putting such strain on my new baby!

I just wanted to follow up on this…I found a Medium from a US Stockist during the Black Friday sales and was able to snag one for around $230. The Medium fits MUCH better on my frame. I am 5'10" around 170lbs and I was really struggling with all the extra fabric in the body of the Large. I always order Large UHF, I am Large in all other IH Westerns and even have a few UHF Work Shirts in Large, but the Wabash is an entirely different cut it seems. the Medium is spot on...perfect! I will post pics this evening, but if the dryer method doesn't work for you, I can confirm that the Medium is plenty roomy but just appears less bulky and blousy than the Large. It is worth a shot!
