IH-6634-BEI - 14oz Heavy Corduroy Straight Cut Pants - Beige
-
Well the patch at least is beige
Edit: my mistake, you were showing the patch on another color.
The cords do look a bit different than my old ones.
Here’s what’s on my 634-based cords:
-
@mclaincausey looks like you were lucky enough to get some of the previous run of cords!! How long you had those? They holding up well still?
-
I know you didn’t ask me, but I’m so excited about these coming back, I can’t help myself.
The material is beyond description. Truth be told, I’ve been a corduroy guy since college so when I heard IH had released a pair before I got into the game, I had to find some.
Giles already mentioned they were small sizing wise and that’s been my experience. They have very little give and don’t stretch like the denim does.
But F me the material is amazing. The pair I have doesn’t fit me like I’d want it too, but I love the material so much I still wear them semi-regularly throughout the year.
They age amazingly and as all IH pieces are built to last.
I am planning on getting a pair of each color as I’m assuming the fit will have some upgrades, they are now looking to be 36” inseam (for us taller folks), and I’m sure they will rival my regular rotation denim.
I know they say in their UHF description that the UHF defines the brand. While I agree, I would also argue their double weave corduroy does the same things….
PS - they also had a type III of this double weave corduroy and while I’ve never owned one, I read it was fecking epic

@Dstauffer great input man!! Muchas gracias!! I’ve been a huge corduroy fan forever myself. I’ve looked long and hard for some high quality cords since getting into the “well made” scene…to no avail. So hearing all the excitement around these pants from those that have actually felt/ wore them gets me amped up big time!!
I used to always buy cords at the thrift store because it was the only place I could find them consistently.
-
Haha, me too….and sometimes I can find a good pair of vintage Levi’s on the Bay.
But seriously, thinking of that material, this double weave is almost incomparable in terms of weight, feel, thickness.
The excitement around these is for good reason….those who know, know
My only critique is it’s not in the 463 cut…..I know it’s not a popular cut, but cords would phenomenal in that cut

Mostly old enough
Had them since December 2013 and they're mostly pristine.
@Dstauffer nailed it. They are bulletproof yet soft. You may wind up fondling your legs and making people uncomfortable when you wear them.
Thanks to Giles for coming up with the idea, a big WTF to everyone else for not buying enough of them the first time around to make them extant, and another thank you to Giles and Haraki San for bringing them back. I think they will do well this time. I would love to see the olive re-run.
The previous iteration came up quite slim for a 634-based cut, which I really enjoy on mine, but people often had to size up. I think these will be a bit roomier.

I’m looking forward to measurements on the brown. There really is nothing like the double-weave cord. I hope there will be a modified type III with pockets, sometime. But what I really want is the return of my all-time GRAIL the 6526J-SP. Fleece lined black double-weave cord type III with snaps! Nobody has one, but I would kill for a remake.

I once had an old vintage, brown, Levi’s Corduroy suit I found at a thrift store. 3 piece. All Corduroy. I wore it to a job interview. Mind you this was about 6 years ago, not 1973. I’m not sure why I chose to wear it, it just seemed like one hell of a way to leave an impression. I’m a teacher, so the looks on the interviewers faces when I walked in was priceless. I didn’t care if I got that job or not. Ultimately, they did offer me the job, which I opted not to take. The point of this story, yes, yes I wear double denims…but given the chance, f$&@ yeah I’d wear a couple of cords!!!

Lol, I like your style! Double cords, no! Triple cords! My man!

So super random question.
I noticed that there was talk about updating the fit/sizing on these from the first run.
I am wondering if you know if the belt loops on these have been made any larger from the first run. I have a pair of those and its super tight to get my excess belt through the loop after I buckle. That said it’s a thicker belt (samurai curve- comparable to any IH thick belt), but has never been an issue with any other IH denim, whipcord, or cargo pants I wear.

Word up!! Thanks @Dstauffer
