Wow, this restock comes unexpected - at least for me. I have to agree, olive and indigo makes for a great combination. I'm tempted!

You put the shirt in your cart and then either click on the link in the "Details" section:

"(which can be pimped with a choice of three alternative ‘heavy-duty’ snaps)"

          Or

when you go to your cart (after adding the shirt), you will be prompted to upgrade the snaps

This came in just now! I went with Size M instead of my regular Size S and I should say that even though a bit boxy on few places, I like it very much compared to the Size S which is where most of my other IH shirts are. This one is stunning and I like the Olive and it goes hand-in-hand with my M65 and my Filson 257 Otter green!

I don’t see anything wrong with the sizing. Shoulders look good to me, no button pull, arm length looks on spot.
For what it’s worth… I typically wear L as well but have size M in this one…

After at least a year of hemming and hawing, I finally broke down and snagged one of these.  I love anything olive, and this is no exception.  I will say, it's been interesting reading the comments in this thread - some sized up, some sized down compared to their normal sizes.  For this one, I sized up to an XXL, and it was the right decision.  I briefly owned the black serge shirt in XL, and it was a bit too small all over, especially in the arms.  This is a perfect fit, and the arms are still trim - I couldn't have sized down.  For reference, I jump between XL and XXL in IH shirts, and I always need an XXL in UHFs.

I'm honestly not sure how some people size down as much as they do.  I'm not particularly big / muscular in the arms, but I don't think I could get my arms into a Large, and an XL would have been tight on my forearms.  Currently, I have a 43" chest and a 37" waist, broad shoulders and long arms.  I need to lose 10 pounds or so, but not enough to change my sizing.

^That looks like a perfect fit. I've had mine sized up and yes, the arms on these are a bit on the slimmer side. Even I like anything Olive and this one shirt is my new favorite.

Many twill cotton materials will shrink with the right treatment. Agitation and heat are key. However this is sulphur dyed and does fade quickly, so abrasion marks are a definite risk.

If you decide to go for it use a 60C machine wash with very low or no spin and thoroughly soak the shirt before putting it in. I would suggest  avoiding the drier the first time.

If that doesn’t work then try the same wash plus drier, or a 90C wash.

For clarity, I’ve not tried this with this material, but that is what I’ve done with wabash earlier with good results. I can’t shrinkage or that you escape marbling/abrasion lines.

Thank you very much! The shirt is due a wash and thought it might be worth giving it a go. I am concerned with causing white marks, don’t want to f**k the shirt up. If I go ahead, I’ll document it on the forum.

When I say «abrasion lines» I’m talking about this white marks. They are a possibility. Soaking the shirt before washing and ising low to no spin will mitigate the risk.

@neph93 - Just to clarify, are you suggesting that I soak this shirt before putting it in the washing machine to avoid the white marks?  The black serge shirt that I owned had a bunch of white marks, and I almost didn't buy this one because of it.

I'd be doing a cold wash and hang dry, I want NO shrinkage and minimal fading.

My old Swedish serge cargos have these abrasions. I dig em in that case. My current washing machine has a pre-soak option when you're setting up the cycle and I have had good luck with that in terms of not adding to the abrasions that are already there.

                                    Think it, be it.

Correct mate. Not a long soak just get it thoroughly wet inside and out. This presents sharp creases from forming in the machine but is these that create the marks.

I washed my one of these this way (30C and 600rpm, air dry), and it went just fine.
