The depressing part isn't the truckloads of horseshit used to sell Brexit, it's how readily half the country lined up to buy it.

At the time of the referendum my mother (who is English) had been living in Germany for 43 years. Brexit was the the final drop that made her get German citizenship, both out of frustration and concern that she would have to get a residence permit again like in the good old days
