Zion is near the top of our family’s travel list. Been holding off for our youngest to get a little more stamina. I’m looking forward to updates!

For those of you who haven’t seen, I’m going to be helping my brother @Fadez out during his convalescence and will be receiving his sample pair of slubbies.  Since I’ll likely be wearing them for most of my coming adventures I’ll be posting in that thread instead of this one whenever we do something cool out here in the desert.  Please join us.

Excellent.  Balloon Fiesta next week.  Apparently I will have to get out of the house at 4:30 am to beat the traffic to the fiesta grounds.  I’m sure for an experienced angler like @Giles thats no big deal, but if I try to get up before 8 am the results are generally catastrophic.  I guess we’ll see.

03:50 this morning - "had" to catch a flight to Portugal - I have unfinished business with Portuguese Bass…...I have to say, I feel a little less than optimal atm  06:30 start tomorrow.....

Very excited to get into it today.  We’re starting with a 5 miler at Dead Horse Point St Pk.  Hopefully that and lots of coffee will remedy my post drive back trauma and sleep deprivation caused by the kids’ first night in the hotel.

I’ll put up some scenery shots here and some 16 oz slub shots on the sample thread.

Dead Horse St Park…

The park is named Dead Horse Point because cowboys used to corral wild mustangs here but after choosing the ones they wanted they’d leave the rest penned in to die of thirst.  No one knows why.  Here’s one of the fences they made…
