I think the lack of double knee makes them a bit more versatile, wardrobe-wise.  And since I don't see myself being dragged behind a car anytime soon, I don't think it'll make them any less functional in my use.  I'm really excited for these, and it'll be stiff competition between these and the 888 as my next IH legwear.

I have no need for a double knee, other than an aesthetic one. I think it looks great and I’d imagine an effective 42oz over your thighs feels great too. The extra insulation when it gets really cold might nice as well though.
