This looks interesting.  Can anyone compare to the “usual” cuts?

It’s more like a chino cut, but if you think of a 634 with a bit more tailoring, but not as slim in the top as a 666, you are close.

Fitted top block, regular thigh and knee with gentle taper to hem.

You can get them hemmed with chainstitch for a “jeans” look or do a chino hem for a bit more heritage look (like Giles did in his sample).

Thanks. That is pretty much what I was hoping for. I like the 777 but could use a roomier too box, especially for summer, and the 634 is too wide at the bottom while the 666 may have too narrow thighs. This looks like at brilliant solution.

you and me both @TeflonDon ! the 777 is my favorite cut, but I like a bit more room to tuck in shirts when needed. And as I am writing this wearing some 634s, my only change on them would be about 1' tighter hem (Which these 728s offer in the same tagged size.

I wholeheartedly agree - this is THE perfect straight leg “dungaree.”

Top block has an absolutely phenomenal tailored look without being tight or binding, snd the thigh to knee is once again tailored but not tight by any stretch.

I’ll be dressing these up for office wear tomorrow

Agreed, great fit!

I do think anything with a cinch-back is begging for brace buttons though. I've never found practical value in a cinch-back on trousers when wearing a belt, though the aesthetic value is there. Just an opinion, but to me the sensible options for securing your pants are either braces + optional cinch-back or belt.

I will say - mobility is top notch in these if you go TTS. I swear the flat seam outseam and inseam do something to create a very fluid pattern - and the side pockets make sitting so comfy.
