I have the 005 in size 33 now.  Waist is just a tiny bit loose (.5"), but the rest is a good fit, not too tight or loose in the thighs, just about right.

I can't decide to get the AI-001 in size 32 and stretch out the waist…. or the AI-002 in a size 34 and shrink the waist....  but I think all the AI come fully shrunk like the 634SB. I love the slubbyness of the AI and the COLOR, the color is incredible in real life.  Take5 only had the AI-001 in 34 and it was too loose in the waist and thighs.  Really want to try the AI-002.

Any plans on IR making a jean with great texture in a natural indigo?  Until discovering the color of natural indigo, I didn't know what I was missing!

NI is possible, we already do the TW1220NI which is a rope dyed natural indigo straight cut selvedge.  Slubby, probably not, haraki does not like super slubby.  G

The 18oz denim on the 666 is fairly slubby, not PBJ slubby sure but still loads of character.

thpcgr, I think the colour has more to do with the dying process and the cotton threads than the indigo, synthetic indigo & N.I. are chemically identical.

Pretty sure that both AI models are one-wash, so it'll be hard to shrink them. It would probably be better to get the smaller size and stretch it out.

there is unmeasurable impurities in natural and it's these small factors that makes the difference. it's like having natural egg and powder eggs, its just not the same.

i have had the same batch cotton both rope dyed in Natural and Synthetic. [only 20 dips] IMO there is a world of difference in terms of richness and how it wears/fades or doesn't.

Based on my personal experience, I'd stay away from the 01 and go for the 02 instead, the cut seems a bit more tapered on the 02.

Darn, my next HK trip is scheduled for the middle of March and was really hoping to try these on at Take5.
No restock of the AI until July too, might not be able to visit HK the 2nd half of this year, sad.

Update: Pure Blue Japan informed me the 07 24oz would be shipping end of March and the 05 24oz model by end of April.

Since they havent been too reliable in previous date indications and in light of the fucked up situation in Japan these days, I would take these dates cautiously.

If the presoak fit is a bit tight, then cold soak and so on…

if the presoak fit on a raw pair is a bit on the tighter side and you want to shrink it just a bit, then cold soak…

the looser the cut is presoak, the hotter the water should be, when you soak! Donkey 😉

I got some "interesting" advice earlier today: cold soak in order to not hurt the indigo.

unless we are talking "boiling" I would guess the difference between cold and warm might only have an impact on the cotton shrinkage…

Meh - cold soak with vinegar… That supposedly prevents the indigo from bleeding too much... Who knows... Just soak at 40 C° for 45 minutes unless you can't fit in them right now... Then cold soak and put them on whilst they're damp to stretch 'm a bit...

(what's the point in pampering a pair of jeans if you are going to wear them?)

I finally picked up my AI-002 from take5.  NO 24 oz yet so I have to hit them again in June or so.

Soooo.. I got a size 34….  glad I did...  POST SOAK it's a SIZE 32!!!  Man, it shrunk so much, it shrunk more then my 005 in a size 33.
It was a HOT soak @ 60C.  Color change was very insignificant post soaking, Just a super tiny hint lighter.

If I were to compare fit between the 005 and AI-002, the AI feels a tad more fitted and proportions a little better then the 005. The top block is a little more snug but the thighs a tiny bit looser and more comfortable.  With a few more days wear lets see how much these stretch out...

AI-002 and 634SR rotating daily, life is good.  ;D....  until summer when I need to switch to light jeans.
