@yannis @Appfaff after the other night zoom convo, I had ruefully accepted that the IH-634-142 were the right choice (it helped that the measurements looked great). However there are some IH-634S inbound and then these show up. I think with my recent preference for the Boss toe these might be a winner.

You really can’t go wrong with either R, but I think your preference for higher rises, slimmer fits, and still room for boots means that these might hit the nail on the head!

Question regarding the boot part of the boot cut for those who know… is the flare such that one retains a decent effect from the boot cut even with hemming?

Seeing the way H wears them and considering the intention is to let the jeans sit further down on the boot, I figure I can let the inseam be a little longer. My regular inseam on 888's is 31.5" so letting it go another inch should be ok, but that is still a decent cut.

I would say a small amount of stucking will probably work, too much and you will probably loose the intented flair effect of the cut. If you are usually heming at 31.5 i woudnt go higher than 32 to 32.25. But then again i dont have personal experience with this cut. Also depends on what shoes you are going to be wearing. Too long of a hem in a leg opening this wide you will start dragging the bottom of the pants with flat sneakers.

I usually hem to 33-34”. I got these hemmed to 34, and they are just on the edge of being too long when I’m barefoot, but they’re perfect for boots and sneakers.

But you didn’t loose much flare? They still retain the boot cut?

I think maybe a whole inch extra will be a bit much. 32” should be about right.

They still seem plenty flared to me. Admittedly, the attraction for me to this cut was purely the top block, so I haven’t paid much attention to the rest.
