    @Nskelton:

I didn't actually measure my inseam on my 777 but it came with a card stating they were 37.2 and after a hot soak 35.75.

Dang, you must have boiled them 😃

Thanks for the measurements. I ended up hemming less just in case.

    Blanket-line all the things!!!

Shrinkage is not an exact science, which is why we caveat our shrinkage statements with words like "about and "approx"…...

Paul - thanks for all your help in the PMs, I went with a 31 in these given the roomy thighs and rarity of IH-bb vs overdyed production. These measurements look perfect for skinny guys like me with a serious case of deadlift addiction…

Will save the 888-XHS-mb for a future adventure, gotta thrash these bad boys into submission first! Cant wait for my first pair of XHS straight from the IHUK source. Should be a great way to close out this strange year and something to look forward to start 2021 the right way.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea At the Time

        Looking for:
        L-XXL tops
        888 cuts ~32 waist
        anything fire

Awesome!  I ended up going with a 32 with a slightly bigger than avg waist.

Just making sure that you know that you're potentially getting about an inch of shrink in the waist with a soak, and some shrinkage everywhere (inseam, thighs, probably the front/rear rise) on account of these being sanforized but unwashed.  It'll stretch out to its starting measurements if you put the pressure on those spots, and then some.  The inseam is the only really concerning measurement with shrink – you don't want to hem them to your desired length before soaking them and losing an inch.

The XHSib was probably the toughest button-up I ever had.  I think it took about 15 minutes of attempts peppered with thumb-rest-breaks for me to get them buttoned 🙂  The XHSMB wasn't bad, nor was the XHS.  We'll see how this one plays out 🙂

These are going to arrive right before I pig out for Christmas.  Fitting into a waist that's already tight at my thinnest is going to be fun after I gobble up some pies 😃

These were hands down the tightest button up I’ve had so far. Made the mistake of putting them on while still damp and having a beer. You know what they say…You don’t drink beer you borrow it. When it came time to return it I almost didn’t make it. Heed this warning. Any shrinkage I got in the waist or thighs,on the 555s, stretched right back out within hours.

Ha, I read your story in the – was it the 555 or 777 thread?  I'm excited to turn my tub black.  These should arrive on Christmas Eve.

The Octopus 🐙 on the patch would’ve been totally appropriate for your 888s.

I saw that!  Just a cold wash for me.  Lowest spin possible. Already done. No marbling at all.

Now drying in the wind outside. Pretty windy over here but also raining. Might take until tomorrow afternoon to dry.

Will report back with pre and post measurements when they're set.

Put mine into the Shrinkmaster 9000, which I think finally met it’s match. I should get out the tape measure and document this so I know for sure.

                                          Alright, they're dry!

                                          Right-out-the-bag measurements:

                                          • waist: 40.6cm (15.98")

                                          • thigh: 32.7cm (12.87")

                                          • inseam: 82.8cm (32.60")

Post hot-soak, cold delicate wash, air-dry:

                                          • waist: 40.4cm (15.91")

                                          • thigh: 32.0cm (12.60")

                                          • inseam: 82.1cm (32.32")

And this is about as perfect as I could hope for.  Right out of the bag, the waist was a little narrow and the thigh a bit wide.  When I measured the waist after drying and saw that it barely moved, I was a little nervous about the thigh.  But the thigh shrank even though the waist barely did.  Perfect!
