Cheers for answering me! Basically what I expected, and since I also live in a cold country I'll probably pass.

The pair I got were od’ed. I’m pretty sure I’ll get a pair if the indigo 142 denim for next summer.

I’ll say this too. Despite it being odd having light denim, the 777s-14-od that I have are identifiably Iron Heart.

The 142 denim feels a lot more substantial than the 14oz weight would suggest. It is 100% pure Iron Heart, and doesn’t feel “wrong” to me at all, it feels (and looks, and wears) like IH. Your opinion may differ, but I own IH in 25oz, 23oz, 21oz, 16oz, and 14oz so my opinion of what defines IH denim is based on more than just weight. It’s more about how substantial and nice the denim feels, how well the jeans (or shirts or jackets etc.) are constructed, and the “richness” of the indigo visually. I’m a big fan of the 142 denim for all of these reasons. Hope this helps.  🙂

I agree, and I don't doubt for a second that these are any less IH than any other products. Loving the look of these! However, I only buy new jeans like once every thid year so these may not be what I'm looking for atm. Might change my mind though, who knows.

I haven't worn denim weighing in under 19oz in like.. I don't even know, 7-8 years. Been wearing IH 21oz for the past 4 years. Does it feel "bad" going from heavy to 14oz? Loving the denim and measurements on these.

I wore my 777-UHR 21/23oz all last fall/winter/spring & switched to some 15oz loom state Samurai’s.  It was really weird getting used to the lighter denim.  I can say for sure it felt just as awkward switching back to heavy 23-25oz denim again this fall.
I really like having denim that matches the season & have had my fingers crossed that this 14oz-ib would have my measurements.  Hopefully the upcoming 14oz 555ib will have a bigger thigh because I’d really love to have them for summer.  I have pair of IH-777S-142 (14oz indigo) that fit & feel great but the ib has a really compelling fade potential.

Short story, there is a seasonal adjustment period but for me it’s totally worth it.

I’m sorry for the noob question, but is indigo black vs indigo overdyed black the same thing or very different from each other? Is indigo black an all black jean vs the overdyed model just a blue jean with a black dip to finish?

Not a noob question so do not worry. The indigo/black is new, the overdye thing is not, so this bares repeating.

They are not the same thing. As you correctly say OD'ed denim is normal blue jeans dipped in black fugitive dye.

The indigo/black is a mix of indigo and black denim, woven together. That is to say that the horizontal threads in the weave are dyed with a black dye that will fade. The jeans present as dark indigo (not black!).

Not a problem. There is one error in the above however. They present more as a very dark indigo moving towards black. A bit like the XHSib. The point being that the white weft that normally lightens denim, isn’t white here. Apologies for the error.

                    Original post corrected.

I’m considering these, and I think the picture in this thread is great. However Filthy has posted pictures here https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=104.msg659776#msg659776 (page 186) of a pair of XHS ib, which seem to have faded differently.

I think Giles’s look like the fabric has changed color, whereas Filthys look like there is a layer of dark color on top, which has been worn off in places.

Will these fade more like the 19 oz ones, or could it go either way?

Also how does the fabric compare to 21 oz indigo? I’ve tried a lighter pair than 21 oz, but they felt more stiff (I think it was 14 oz, but I cod be mistaken).

You will see how the 142ib denim fades.

Probably about the same/maybe a little less, but certainly not as quickly.
