    @flavour79:

Tempted to snag a pair but cant decide whether a Large or XL will work. Am currently a  size  Xl in Flannels and I have a 43chest with 18 shoulders. I know there is shrinkage to be had in these.

Honestly, at least for me, the shrink wasn't noticeable at all.

I asked Steve (from the crew) about that and he said shrink wasn't much. I went with my chest measurements. I like to be around 43, my medium was something like 43.6 (21.8 p2p)

For reference, I'm either a medium or large in shirts and jackets. I went with medium in this…

I soaked mine in cold water, minimal agitation, for 30 minutes. Dried it in the shade laid flat on a towel. The shrinkage is as followed on my jacket sized 36:

        Shoulders: 0.25 inch
        Sleeves: 1.2 inch
        Chest: 0.5 inch
        Length: 0.6 inch

I had approximated this from the test results listed near the beginning of this thread, and therefore expected the shrinkage. My result was very consistent with the list given.

It is such a freaking nice jacket.

A bit of evo on my sleeves. More pronounced after a wash.

Lovely denim on denim there. You’ve achieved a very tasty fit on that jacket @iamlebing

Jupp, she’s a keeper (the jacket, but also your s.o.). It couldn’t get much better than that. Great length and still wide enough in the body.

Agreed. That jacket couldn’t fit you any better.

@Oaktavia I am sorry to be the one to tell you that everyone is lying to you about the fit of the 72 and it would fit me infinitely better. Just sayin.  😶

@neph93 it is a bit snug when buttoned. Do you predict it will give in the torso area if I wear it around buttoned for awhile? I could use some stretch in some areas.

Erm… difficult to say. Has it been soaked or washed? Has it been used before?

In principle most cotton/twill fabric will at least relax and give a bit under pressure. Mitigating factors will be the tightness of the weave, and the amount of constructional stitching, both of which will retard stretch to a degree.

My educated guess is that it should relax a little, but probably not much.

The previous owner stated he washed it twice.

I’d guess that the fabric has lost some torque then, so you may find it will relax easier.
