Surprised you didn’t think of requesting custom GAH copper bolts for it.
Don’t put ideas in to his head.

Wow, those look amazing.
We have some copper ones we bought from
https://limehouselighting.com/
which we put in 15 years ago….
They look pretty damn good now....

Love the skylight over your kitchen–really nice and cozy in there.

I had the pleasure of spending time in that room and can confirm that it is a wonderful space.

Lovely kitchen love that you know how to use it too…or at least it looks like it in that cooking thread

I believe that's the Robinson of England Chesterfield. I might have put @Giles onto them, and can confirm that they're excellent sofas.

Not sure how I came across this topic but really great journal. I’m about an hour into looking at pictures and reading, as a home builder/developer I live for this stuff.
Such an amazing addition, you did absolutely killer job. Very cool how involved you were in the process… but not sure if I would’ve loved it if I was the General Contractor lol -

I did not know what I was doing
I see a pattern emerging here. Although that doesn't make it a bad thing

I have failed so many times, and am still happy to make U turns
and that's what keeps our brains fit

The use of reclaimed or saved materials is great. I won’t clog up your topic but the house I built before my current house I used some 18th century shutters from France as sliding doors, reclaimed Marie Antoinette “shutter dogs” on the exterior shutters, salvaged Heart Pine floating shelf for the powder vanity etc… New construction, but tried to balance the old with the new to give it a little bit more character

I love those old French Shutter dogs. I could not walk more than 50 yards when we were in Brittany last year without commenting on them
There's one in this post:

Not sure if I documented the repairs we had to do to the "old" kitchen floor, but I found some very long and very wide boards sawn from 19th century beams, which I absolutely love...
