Thanks man.  I’ll f I hadn’t already ordered the burgundy ones I’d have been perfectly content with these.  But you know… 😎

Question for anyone with knowledge on the subject. My White's MP's have the leather foot bed just floating in the boot and i have to place them every time i wear them. They fit from the heel about 3/4 of the way of the foot and are cut diagonally for some reason. Obviously the adhesive came loose. I have shoe goo, but my short google search came with "use shoe goo" and "don't use shoe goo" so i'm back at square one.

anyone have a tip on how i should reapply these?

Also, I could have probably sized down 1/2 size (maybe 1/4 size in actuality) and i've considered an insert for comfort over prolonged wear. Has anyone added inserts to their boots and have a recommendation over the endless options online? Red wing makes a leather insole with some padding but at $50 it has some sketch reviews.

I had one of those leather pieces come loose in my pair of semi dress. I just used whatever glue I had handy. I'm sure shoe goo would be fine. A few dabs worked for me, just be sure to press them back in firmly and give them a day or so to dry fully.

For insoles, I like Spenco Rx if you need to fill some volume. Pedag makes some nice options in various materials including some thinner stuff. Just be aware an insole will raise your foot in the shoe. You'll lose some room over your toes and instep, and the heel fit may change somewhat.

Looks like denim truly is the fabric of our salvation.

Thanks @krebsy shoe goo it is. I’ll have to put them on and make sure I actually “need” the room filled and I’ll start entertaining inserts from there.

You can also pull them out @jordanscollected that heel pad just hides the nails in the footbed. Some people pull them out of White's, Viberg, etc. from the beginning. Pedag make good insoles if you want some shape and support, but if not the best thing is to get a thick piece of veg-tan to put in there. Wesco's insoles are basically that. White's might be able to make one for you too, or Bakers boots in Eugene.

I’d be surprised if White’s didn’t sort you out if you called them.  Whenever I read through comments on one of their posts there’s always someone asking a random question about something and they always say “call us.”

@jordanscollected  I’m interested in how this goes for you as I’ve got my first pair coming later this year. I’ve always worn some kind of insert in my boots so curious what you do. Good luck and keep us posted.

@SKT @Nik @Matt I will definitely keep you all posted on how this goes. I feel this could be a turning point to my boots for me. a little background…

I had a conversation with Matt a year or so ago about how I love my White's boots and want to love boots even more, but I simply didn't fall down the rabbit hole of "needing" more boot colors, styles and leather variations from more brands once I got the itch scratched in the welted world. I need to wear the one's I have more (I wear them maybe once a week), but i come up with excuses on why not to. "It's slushy so I'll wear my Merrell's, it's faster to just slip on my low top hiking shoes, let's just get out the door, etc."

Anyhow I was having a conversation last weekend with my brother in law about nice boots and he mentioned a brand called Origin that were extremely expensive at around $350, and i realized I had a pair of White's that cost check website and doesn't mention price for fear of being called out for flexing $700 now for a pair that I hem and haw about wearing.

Final verdict: I need to shine up these fuckers and toss some comfy insoles in them and wear the shit out of them and stop with the internal struggle.

I live about an hour from Red Wing, MN so one would expect naturally I would have started with some Iron Rangers but no I did not. (this was a paragraph I thought fit somewhere in this conversation but it didn't so I put this in parenthesis instead explaining it).

Wear them brother and don’t look back.  The new C350 stitchdown models are a really nice midway point between the $350 world and the $700 world.  That’s what I went with on Black Friday and I’m excited to get my feet in them.

I struggled with the same mental hang up, but if there's a boot out there that can handle it, White's would qualify!

And I have finally bought into the Giles method of ”just give it shit” to almost all of the stuff I own. But it was hard for me to get there because as my wife would kindly say, I’m kind of “particular” about stuff.
