I always thought that both of them lifted the legendary Purdie Shuffle. I’ve met Bernard Purdie on 2 occasions. Super nice and approachable. Most recently in February playing drums for the Stringbean Blues band. Also saw him years ago playing drums for Jeff Beck.

What do you get when you take Charlie Hunter, a guitarist who somehow plays bass, rhythm, and lead guitar simultaneously, Skerik, a tenor saxophonist with insane chops, creativity, and an effect pedal board, and the great Stanton Moore on drums?

Garage a Trois, the original lineup plus Eric Benny Bloom on trumpet. Fantastic. I was completely floored wire to wire. Great opening band too.
