Kangaroo is really nice leather for boots; it's extremely strong and scuff resistant, but also soft and thin. Very comfortable.

I'll add some love for the roughout Rangers. I feel like I've got "nicer" boots, but these certainly have the most character. They've been pretty beat to shit, have been to Europe and the UK a couple times plus countless other places, and shitloads of life left.

Looks like a nice job on those Whites.
Browsing Yorkshiresoles website, it looks like they’ve got a good selection and do some nice work.How was the service/ quality of the work? Any feedback?
I’ve got a pair of Whites Smokejumpers that are in need of some TLC and am looking for a good UK based cobbler.

Hi @dan79 I recommend Yorkshire Sole. They are great with communication and even took the time to have a video chat to show different options of soles with the boots. The full rebuild of my boots was £160 and took 6 weeks. Pricing and time varies depending on the boots. The work is very well done.
I will use Yorkshire sole again for two main reasons, first that the quality of workmanship is at the same craft handmade level as my White's or other boots in that range, and also the selection of soles is better than anyone else I have seen. Sure, Vibram is great, but the Taiwanese Dr Sole stuff is excellent.
Cool that Dean is starting to make boots too. Would be great to see some British one man boot brands come on the scene. Currently there's Felix Jouanneau in London whose work is beautiful but out of my price range. Anyone else on the forum know of others?
