Holllyy shit. This Dirt Nap dude is amazing… I love all the different styles/his range. I'm stoked to see the other work he's got in store for you.
And thanks dude! I dig what my artist does. Got a thigh piece in progress rn that's gonna be sick and the back piece is super exciting for me.
I like his stuff too. He said he did his degree in graphic design, and I think it shows in his really clean lines. There’s this sort of icon or logo look to a lot of his pieces that makes them really pop.
The other thigh, or are you doing more work to the scorpion?

And gonna blast the other thigh to start bridging out from just upper body/torso. I got a start on it but she was feeling under the weather so just did an outline. Imma be posting here once she wraps it up at month's end.

Elbows didn’t bother me at all weirdly, it’s the soft pinchy bits that get me.
And yes on the tiger @Matt - is that one of Samuel Brigante’s?
@LewisStonehouse Yes it is in fact a Briganti. Forgive me, I generally don’t follow many more renowned artists. I just get tatted up and go down IG rabbit holes but pay less attention to the who as opposed to the what.
Of course now that I’ve gone down the Briganti rabbit hole I’m pretty sure I’ll be needing a matching panther head on the other side.

Any tips for my first all-day session from those that know? I think my longest sitting to date is of the order of 3 hours (with a break) which was fine. But we've booked a whole day to do the remaining 2/3rds of this sleeve. Thanks in advance!

I've got almost everywhere tattooed and lately I use little to no Aquaphor and shower at least once a day to keep it clean with a gentle soap like Dove. I have found less ointment is more and just keeping it clean is best. If your tattooer is skilled it will heal nicely and easily
Edit: if you mean during I recommend a few shots and a beer beforehand. But make sure the shop wouldn't mind.

A dude and his dad came into the barbershop on Tuesday and we got to chatting. The dad was cool. He had just had his leg amputated and was carrying a sword/cane. Turns out the dude just started tattooing like a year ago. I asked if he’d like to come into the shop and get in some practice. He was game and said he’d charge like $20 or something ridiculous. He showed me his stuff on IG and it seemed worthy of some small simple leg pieces so I’ll report back on Monday night with the outcome. I’m actually pumped for it. If it’s good, I’ll get some more from him. Maybe even if it isn’t. :-\

Over the past 25 years I’ve been tattooed sober, drunk, a little stoned, a lot stoned and various states in between. The same can be said for the guy tattooing me. I find that while being a lot stoned doesn't completely eliminate the pain, it does do a helluva job making you forget you were in pain about every 10 seconds or so. Kind of like a goldfish after it circles the fish bowl.

How long is the session going to be, @EdH? The longest I've had were a five hour and a six hour (chest and arm).

Get a good night’s sleep before, don’t be hungover, stay hydrated, eat plenty, sugary drinks, have a break before you’re desperate for one. Good luck!
