Also, another recent addition on my end:

Nice tattoo your insane @henry_david

This was p chill compared to my thigh piece for some reason. Stoked to start my back later this year…

Lol that's what I'm worried about, @Matt. Then again, I want it done so it doesn't rly matter all that much.
-
Elbows didn’t bother me at all weirdly, it’s the soft pinchy bits that get me.
And yes on the tiger @Matt - is that one of Samuel Brigante’s?
-
Love the bouquet. I’m in. I’ll keep you all posted.
@LewisStonehouse i don’t know, was just searching images for tiger tats. I’ll have my guy do his own piece.

Been lurking, but stoked to share. Seeing my guy in a couple of weeks for the last 2/3rds of my sleeve.
Saw him a couple of weeks ago to get the snail's helmet changed from a bike helmet to a Spartan one to better fit the theme of the sleeve, and to add another band:
We're going to end up with a load of stuff inspired by ancient Greek myths and their original red and black figure pottery art, but updated to look less janky. So the existing layer tells the myth of Hades and Persephone (forgive the weird homunculus I made to get it in one image) - we are going to add Demeter looking all upset where the tribal used to be - but hopefully you can see Hades taking Persephone down to the Underworld on his chariot, past Cerberus guarding the gates, then them residing down there, before it repeats:
Then above that layer we're going to have a few scenes/monsters/gods from the sea, then a layer of the land, before leading up to Mt Olympus/the heavens, etc.
So think Greek gods all over the place, mythical creatures, scenes borrowed and adapted from classical pottery, etc. I've always been into my ancient Greek myths and am stoked to see what the artist comes up with from my 30 pages(!) of reference and notes (but mostly reference) that I sent him the other day. He nailed what I was going for with the existing piece on the first go before the pandemic, I've been waiting to see him again for quite a while now.

@EdH – Dammnnn. I love that. I don't often see that sort of theme or style and I rly like how it's coming together (and ty for that stitched photo, too). Who's the artist?

Thanks man. I'm toying with the idea of, eventually, having all the background blacked in so that the figures really pop out of the negative space too, just like on the Ancient Greek pots, but (a) that's a lot of ink and (b) the idea has only occurred to me recently and so I'm going to mull it over for a while, see how I like the sleeve with just line-work, etc.
The artist goes by @dirt_nap_ on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dirt_nap_/ . He does funny doodles and puns, some American trad, and I think I was the first to ask him to go in this direction, whatever you'd call it. He didn't do anything like it when we first got talking a few years ago and since I got it I notice he's done a few busts of Medusa in this style, and a few other mythological figures, so I think he's developing a niche.
By the way, I think your scorpion, torso piece and elbow are rad. And that flaming sword on your back sounds like it's going to be pretty nuts.

Holllyy shit. This Dirt Nap dude is amazing… I love all the different styles/his range. I'm stoked to see the other work he's got in store for you.
And thanks dude! I dig what my artist does. Got a thigh piece in progress rn that's gonna be sick and the back piece is super exciting for me.

My Albuquerque artist is making the posters for the Dinosaur Jr show tomorrow. Pumped.
Informal poll..
Should I get something like this on my neck. If so or if not, why?
Yes. Neck tigers are Boss!

Owl is most recent as a reminder of the wisdom I’ve gained from a few very difficult years. -

I like his stuff too. He said he did his degree in graphic design, and I think it shows in his really clean lines. There’s this sort of icon or logo look to a lot of his pieces that makes them really pop.
The other thigh, or are you doing more work to the scorpion?
