Just got this yesterday. I do have to admit to a bald spot on my left forearm. Just used to get shavings and kindling for a fire. Then had to use it for food prep, just to see if it could. Now cooking over the fire.

When I used my Lansky sharpening kit for the first time I realised how much practice I needed when my newly tooled Spydey couldn’t shave arm hair.

Agreed! That looks stunning. But other than the design, what about the quality of the blade used? Without much knowledge, I purchased the Mercator knife and after few months of using it, I can already say that the sharpness of the blade has considerably worn down. How does this compare with the Osborne knives?

The S90V has very good retention and in my experience isn’t as difficult to sharpen as they say.

Is there a difference in the blade quality with the S90V and the S30V?

Both are great quality.  S30 is a bit more practical since it’s easier to sharpen and the S90 is considered a bit higher quality due to its better edge retention and hardness.
