IH-555S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Jeans - Indigo

Here is my first pair of IH denim.

Initially, after researching a bit, I thought I needed the 888S-21.  However, after trying them on I found the 888 was too roomy in the top block, at least for my body shape. I returned those went went in the opposite direction and pulled the trigger on the 555S-21 and I'm quite happy with them. Maybe a touch more taper from the knee down would be spot on for my taste.

6'1" 225lbs, IH size 36 555s-21

Thanks man. Trick is to be disproportionately out of shape so you have to size up lol

Thanks! I may hem down the road. Though, I think the cuffs help shrink the hem a bit (which is a good thing for me as I like a bit more of a taper in my denim than a hemmed 555 would offer)

Sorry for perhaps some old tired questions.

I'm about to buy an unused 2nd hand pair of 555-01 and I'm curious on this fit, since I already own a pair of 666s 21.

On paper, as someone mentioned earlier in this thread, the specs don't seem that different from the 666s 21, but apparently they do look slimmer around the legs and in the hem.

Aside from a higher rise/roomier top block. The Hem/leg opening seems to be roughly "only" 1 cm difference from my 666's (20 cm). Is this enough to really show any difference?

And second question: Is the fabric the exact same fabric as the 666s 21oz?

Same fabric

Different fit as the 666 is a medium rise slim fit and the 555 is a high rise more slimmer

Top block on the 555 will be a little more relaxed than 666, but the taper starts at the thigh, making a slimmer leg throughout.

I'm afraid they’re a little too baggy for me though. I'm torn because I'm used to my 666s 21 in size 32. These 555's are 33.

The roomier top block make them comfortable, but perhaps a little too relaxed? I know I couldn't wear these without a belt.

What do you think? I might put them up for a trade looking for a pair in size 32 if I end up never wearing these.

Size or 2 down in the 555 would probably fit better. They look wearable if you wanted to keep ‘em.
