Took measurements of my best fitting jeans (RGT Stanton fit) and looking for my first IH jeans.
      W - 34
      Front Raise - 10.75
      Rear Rise - 15
      Thigh - 12.25
      Knee - 8.75
      Hem - 8.25

Per the IH website (666-XHS), I am torn between size 33 and 34. Accounting for one inch of shrinkage, it seems like 34 is the better option… or pick 33 and hope they stretch enough after a week or two of wear?

@jtbel1988 I could have possibly gotten away with a 33 in the XHS but the 34 has worked fantastically for me (777 cut, full disclosure).  While I understand powering through some discomfort to stretch them back out after a wash or soak, the marginal difference in sizes wasn't enough for me to size down.  While I like a pretty trim and tailored fit, I also want to enjoy wearing them, and if I'm dreading discomfort, personally, I'll reach for something else in my closet

@Joberwocky - wearability is key. Thanks for the feedback. I cannot deal with an extremely tight fit in the thighs and would be a nightmare to drop 400 on jeans that I cannot wear.

Wholeheartedly agree.  Hope you get your sizing worked out and share some killer fit pics, I'm always a sucker for a great looking cut outside my normal "skinny-ish" comfort zone

Have you measured the way we do?

And are you sure?  The tag 34 measures 35.5 in the waist, and as per the webpage:

                • Sanforized, but unwashed - expect approximately one inch shrinkage in the waist and inseam
                • Other dimensions will shrink proportionately to the waist
                • The waist will stretch out approximately one inch with wear

I would drop the boys a mail at shop@ironheart.co.uk for help

Yes, case closed! That did the trick. Did use a clamp for about an Hour and now it does not hurt anymore. It is fucking comfortable on the waist. I was able to get roughly 2.5 cm extension, exactly where I want it. A thousand thanks to you @Kasi

^ I used a one-handed metal clamp, sprinkled water around the waistband and set the clamp in position inside the waist and started to apply pressure until it felt tight. Left it there for about 2 hours and it ended up where I wanted.

The thighs are still a bit tight, but that is manageable for me. My waist was literally hurting, especially when in sitting position. But now it is the most comfortable pair ever for me.

Not to p*ss on your bonfire or anything, but I'm a bit worried for you when you hit the point where you want to wash them. Now you know the waist will get to where you want with some 'persuasion' I'd say get the soak out of the way. They should stretch back out and beyond pre-soak on the thighs and waist, and will mean you don't have issues with fade shift/length when you eventually get round to washing them. That is of course unless you're planning on keeping them dry forever  🙂

Probably the thighs need a bit of stretch, but I will leave that to the natural evolution. The waist is where it was after artificial stretch using the clamp. I love them.
