I know I was "pushing the limits" before, bet there was well over a year of tacit consent on behalf of my current company and previous company… I had every reason to believe that I was fine after 19 months of smiles, waves, nods and compliments.

My "wear the same thing" plan is actually Plan B; Plan A was to dissect the poorly written dress code policy and wiggle through to still wear whatever I want to wear. As it is, the dress code policy only defines Business Attire, Informal Business Attire, Business Casual and Non-Business Casual. It also has a list of "unacceptable work attire"... but it never says what WE the employees should be wearing to work

I could craft some really "creative" outfits while not breaking any rules, but that's a more dangerous approach than what I'm taking.

Definitely will keep you all posted, lol

***I'm wondering how long it will take someone to actually say something/point it out... Any bets?

I did something similar years ago, but out of laziness, not spite. French blue button down, charcoal grey slacks, and a rotation of Dr. Martens 1461 oxfords.

Aside from a couple of compliments on the shoes, no one said a word for the two years I worked there.  I suspect you'll break before they notice.

Oh, and to clarify, I wasn't wearing the same clothes day after day- I bought 5 of the exact same shirt and 5 of the exact same pair of pants.  Like I said; lazy, not spiteful.

I'm kind of hoping that with the rise of remote work, we'll lose these "clock punching" attitudes and norms.  Like the guy who dresses the nicest and gets to work the earliest and calls and attends the most meetings will no longer be considered to be the "best employee" and assumed to be "hard working" or "effective."  The whole "company man" B.S.

Obviously it's not possible in every profession but there is even some thought that you could eventually be pseudonymous to even your employer, and that there actually may be some benefits to being so in a world where surveillance is becoming omnipresent and social media accounts create a permanent record of behavior.

Oh, and my bet is that you will give up before you get anything close to a satisfying reaction from anyone.  People love to point out (low-key shame) non-conformity and/or uniqueness as a threat.

There’s a lot of package thievery in my town, and I dread when someone makes off with my meds.

Yeah that's a pisser. I would maybe sign up for an account and have that redirected to a Kinkos. UPS has been doing the same thing since last year. DHL still knocks but they sign for you.

Ug yea I actually called and complained about this a month ago because we were in the house and saw the guy drop it off and not even attempt to knock and get the signature.  After a while they told me that it was the policy that they could mark it as "signed" if they "knew" someone was there.  I'd be a kind of OK with it if there was a "didn't get signature due to COVID" option in the tracking, but when it says signed when it was definitely NOT signed, that's F'ed.

Better than a kick in the ‘nads, but wasn’t really their error either.

                                WARNING: profanity follows

I'm quivering with rage right now so need to post; perhaps this will be therapeutic.

We're selling our house and need to have the sewage line cleaned and scoped for the buyers. The idiots they sent over here have been extremely unprofessional and rude to my wife, and then they removed a closed dog gate sealing our dogs in the back of the house, then propped open the front door. The dogs, neither one street-wise, one blind, and neither collared/tagged because we're just hanging out at home, escaped into the neighborhood, where it is illegal (and obviously dangerous, particularly for our dogs) for pet dogs to run loose.

Luckily I was able to find them unharmed (interrupting a conference call to do so) and bring them home. I yelled at the sewer dudes (which is unfortunate because you don't want to piss off the people presiding over something so important in the sales process as signing off on your sewer line) and now have the dogs safe with me in the office.

Then, my wife tells me, they fucking left the goddamned door open AGAIN.

Fuck you, Jake the Snake of Denver, CO, you fucking fucks.

                                Think it, be it.

Then again, sewer dudes probably aren't the kinds of guys from whom I expect even the remotest fucks given. Sewer Boss is probably the same.

Yeah I feel like writing a very sternly worded letter 😃

I have simmered down but definitely had some fight-or-flight energy. I'm usually the easygoing one but this time my wife had to play good cop and defuse the situation. Anyway, I won't be using those guys for any future plumbing.

While I'm here, another ass move that happened of late. It is almost unheard of for us not to receive a piece of mail, even a useless one, once a day. We didn't get any for five days, so I called the post office to find out that our (serially incompetent, misdelivering, often showing up at 10PM) postman marked our house as vacant. Our house is quite obviously occupied, with a manicured lawn (we're selling the thing after all), cars parked there, both of us always there as we work from home, dogs looking out the windows and barking, and we even saw the man when we were working on the yard. When his supervisor asked where he sent the mail, he said that we didn't have any. For five days. When we just closed on a house and are under contract on this one. Absolutely impossible. And very worrisome, since I am positive there are sensitive documents that we were supposed to have received.

I feel like this is mail tampering and a federal offense. I don't understand why a postman would even be empowered to declare a house vacant. I would issue another sternly-worded letter, but who would pick it up?

                                      Think it, be it.

In the lead-up to the election (when the PO was being messed with to the max) we'd get mail like once every 3-4 days, and it would always come in a rubber-banded bundle.  I didn't really mind, it seems like a pragmatic way to deal with throttled capacity. The situation above, though, is quite another thing.

I got tick bite like a week ago, now the area itches.  No rash or anything but worried about experiencing the horrors of Lymes disease.  Damn my lazy self staying on the acursed east coast!
