Man, fuck HGTV. Putting unrealistic expectations of project costs and/or timelines drives me insane. I just got done hanging a massive cedar floating shelf and the “how hard can it be?” comments are about to drive me up a wall. I’ve got well over 100 hours in it (plus >$800 in hardware, stain, etc) and it was a bear to get mounted correctly to put it mildly.
Oof. I feel this way about most home improvement diy. Good luck with it!

It's the absolute worst. I owned a 100 year old row home in Baltimore with a friend and he was like: "hey how about we replace this dome light with a ceiling fan?" We take the dome light off and it's just hanging from the drywall not a joist in sight! The joist of course was ridiculously far from where we'd want the fan to actually be, so we had to cut away a huge portion of dry wall to mount an intermediate beam to mount the ceiling fan. Of course it was like 3 days and 4 trips to home depot to finish it. And don't even get me started on the time a drunk friend shoulder-barged through our (completely unlocked) door…

Seasonal? Started already? Ouch. One of the best things about living in Norway is the huge difference it makes to my pollen allergies. April to September in the UK, one week in June and one week in July above the arctic circle.
Yup, and its looking like it's a start of a long Spring season allergies wise.
But damn, having one week of this annually sounds like heaven. The cold tho, I don't know if I'll survive … lol -
If you bank with M&T Bank, and just received a rather large deposit that you weren't expecting, please don't spend it. It wasn't for you. It was a wire transfer meant for the car dealership THAT GAVE ME THE WRONG MOTH##FU##ING G##DA## ACCOUNT NUMBER!! ARE YOU FU##ING SH##ING ME?!

Update! The receiving bank rejected the wire due to the mismatched account owner name. Now all I have to do is rewire Monday then it's off the to the "Our Dream Cars" thread.

Yea don't get me started. I even called them to confirm the info, but the person I was speaking with got the same erroneous info from the accounting department, so we were both verifying that two wrong numbers matched. How is this the default way to transfer money in 2021?!
Now, I was always pretty sure that I wouldn't have any problems reversing the transaction in the end, but it's best to have a vast sum of $$ missing in the ether for as little time as possible.
