Is anyone here joining the Redline Rally? https://www.indigoinvitational.com/redlinerally/
IHUK is one of the chosen shops to purchase from for this comp. I joined (as well as the Indigo Invitational last year, but not with IH) and am curious if any forum members have interest in it…
I ended up changing my entry to the IH-68 indigo...It is from May 1, 2021 - May 1, 2022.
I registered and will join with IH-526J-22OD
I’m thinking about registering as well… maybe with a IHSH-62, or 33-T[emoji848] …needs to be a long sleeve shirt I can wear during the Berlin summer months as well [emoji848]

Anyone ever had a boot that the sole squeaks? My Viberg boot squeaks and it drives me crazy. I don't think it is the insole because I glued it in with spray adhesive and pulled it back out and put some powder in there and tried it for a week, then glued it back in.
I don't think it is the rubber sole where it contacts the ground either because I tried WD-40 and Aerokroil, plastic cleaner, etc.
It must be the plies of leather in the sole…
I wrote to them over a year ago and they said, "just keep wearing it and it will go away eventually." It really pisses me off.

That's crazy, I had a pair of Vibergs that developed a squeak after a year or two of solid use. Drove me insane and I ended up donating them to good will or some equivalent.
To be fair there were attempts at fixing before donating but the end result was giving them away…

Next I am thinking about drilling into the inside sole with a fine drill bit and injecting a small about of boot oil in there.

I like this idea @Filthy . I suppose the most likely offending spot ought to be where the sole flexes right? Where the ball of the foot falls. Please share pics and your results.

@Steffen I'll do it.

I ordered some of these so I can try it.
Edit: to answer your question, it seems like the squeak is located here:

Great sleuth work @Filthy . I look forward to your results.

Mike, i had a pair of lizard boots that were so LOUD i was asked to not wear them to work. I did everything including sending them back to Luchesse for warranty work to no avail. Ended up selling them. In my case. I think it was either the stitching. Which was redone by Luchesse or nails that were the culprit, tho im not a cobbler.
Feel yer pain. Hopefully the botox injections will fix it for you. Else the Vibergs will have added plumpness. Lol.

Yeah, was thinking it could be a nail too. I might oil the inside sole and drill next to the nail in that spot and see what happens. I have a friend in TSA and I might see if see would take a pic of the xray and text it to me so I can see exactly where all the nails are….

Has anyone repurposed older, worn-in jeans (or crunchy new new) for cycling or heavy-duty hiking/higher exertion activities? Anyone done that with either 21oz or something lighter like the 14oz denim? I commute a lot by bike and used to do so in some IH-301S, but then had to peel those damn things off by EOD. Mighta had to do a lot with the fact that they were skin tight lol

I basically live in my newest pair and do almost everything in them. But like swimming and bathing, and I can't wear them at work unless I want to wear them under FR coveralls (and die of heat exhaustion from the waist down)

Is there any harm in climbing under my truck and finding places like this and cleaning them off with like a brass brush and applying some Naval Jelly? My last truck was swiss cheese from rust after 10 years… like almost completely rotted away.
I just gave my truck a good wash and it feels good to know that winter seems to be over.

I was wondering why the tag feature sometimes results in a “red” tag that sends a notification, and sometimes a “grey” tag that just says “mention” and sends no notification?
I originally thought that it was because members were not waiting for the pop up box to appear and just typing “@….”, but this is what it looks like
Proper tag: @Giles
Improper tag: @gilesSo I don’t know why some members like @Brock always have the [mention] next to the name.
