PIH5DCT - 25oz Indigo/Indigo Selvedge Denim Tapered Cut

Making a post to memorialize day one of the Pronto XHS double indigo resurrection. After 2 hot soaks, 2 trips through the washer on the sanitary (hottest cycle), and 2 trips through the dryer… I got quite a bit of shrink in the waist. The waist is now tighter than my other pair, so I am happy. I starched and ironed the shit out of these to try and smooth and stiffen the denim as much as possible. There were also very heavy vertical creases up the sides next to the selvedge, so I had to pay careful attention to those and iron that out on the inside and out.

The jeans are SKIN-TIGHT when I sit down. The rise is a full inch lower on these, but the yoke falls in about the same area because the top block is so form fitting.
I am enjoying the texture and thickness of the denim from being washed and shrunk. It is perceived as being thicker than my XHSib pairs. But it doesn't have that silky suedey feel that they do, yet.
@Brock yeah, thanks for that. It will give me something to aspire to. Those are beautiful. I really like how blue and white the fades are on this denim.
I still have a little work to do to get those inside out vertical creases out of them. I have slightly smaller cuffs than per usual.

@Jett129 I am eager to see them. These are so tight and stiff on me now it's hard to imagine them ever being comfortable. But I know they will be eventually.

Pretty sweet @Jett129 I can see how soft they are.
@RoxRocks86 the prontos are very blue and the XHSib has a slightly black and grey cast to it. So while they are similar in color irl the XHSib is darker.
Also I wasted my time trying to shrink these. The waist is back to where is was before. It took less time to get there than it took me to soak and wash/dry them.

I've got 2 days on the jeans now and I think I have committed to wearing them. I love how the combs look set I'm. The waist stretched back out from an 18.2 to a 19 and then some. Looking at the measurements from the first page I guess they did shrink quite a bit or I don't know how to measure right. I watched the YouTube video and followed along but the sample pair that is measured in the video is very pliable and broken in. These are very rigid and the part that is supposed to be bent in half is more than an inch thick.
Measuring the waist the Self Edge way seems to subtract about .2 from the actual measurement.
I have steam ironed them a couple more times all over and the denim has that smooth even hand that I like. This denim feels like it has a different vertical texture than the regular XHS. I guess it is from the washer and dryer but the hand feels more like UHR or the 21 oz denim than regular XHS. But the iron definitely smooths and adds that sheen that I like. After being machine washed and ironed this denim is very "flaccid" and pliable compared to what it was.
I think I wore these about a month last time and gave up on them. But now they seem more comfortable and the waist is doable with a belt.
