Looks fantastic in the pics. In fact it looks more like s traditional type III fit, which in my opinion is where it is at.

Thanks @sabergirl yes I could button it up but prefer the unbuttoned look. I could also layer it over a hoodie but it becomes a little too close-fitting. I was a bit concerned with the length of the waist.

      @sabergirl:

Can you button it? Are you interested in buttoning it? Otherwise, I like a good trim fit on a trucker jacket, so it looks pretty good. Sleeves could be a little longer, but they don’t look too short.

Thanks @neph93, yes I will rock with it when the temperature is a little cooler here in Perth.

Do you feel it is too long or too short? To my eyes it looks great.

This jacket it one of the longest type III’s IH do. I don’t own one because I have to size up for broad shoulders and chest and the jacket gets very long as a result.

Yours looks to be at the sweet spot.

Yeah I thought it was a little short, but it could just be me without knowing exactly how a denim jacket should fit. But I have had some positive feedback so far on this forum. I am quite comfortable with the fit now. Here is another photo with a hoodie underneath. It doesn't look very tight at all and doesn't restrict any mobility.

            Thanks for the input.

                    Too Short?

In order to make up for the smaller than usual waist sizing I've noticed in the OD jackets, I sized up however, the length was a little more than I had expected…

I've started with some images of other denim jackets I've own as comparison.

It doesn’t look bad, but I think I prefer the slightly shorter cut on the first few jackets.

These are intended to be longer than other type III’s. Different look to your other jackets but it still fits, and suits you very well.

I have type III’s in a variety of lengths and all serve a purpose and work well with different cuts of jeans, or different layering options.

I think the only problem here is that @BrianA looks too good in that jacket! 😃

Yeah man, like neph said, I have shorter and longer type IIIs.  Some look great over a T, some look better over another shacket.  They all look good.  And, the sleeve on your Lod looks perfect.  I think going with a smaller size would mean a sleeve that's too short.

                            Wear with confidence!

Would anyone like to compare this jacket with the 22oz OD without pockets?  Anyone (crazy enough to) have both?  (I could be that crazy, just not yet.)  I'm inclined to wait for the shorter in length/no pockets 22oz version.  Is that one being restocked in sight of this one?  That would make it more fun and torturous to decide.

I have the 22 OD and the 19L non-OD version, so I suppose I'm close. The 22 is noticeably made of a thicker, heavier fabric, but is softer and more pliable than the 19L. The latter is incredibly stiff and tightly woven. For me the most important important difference though is the fact that the 19L is a modified version with handwarmers. As a result of that, I put the jackets to different kind of uses. The 22OD is comfortable enough to wear inside the house and pairs well with almost anything except longer shirts. I wear the 19L mostly as a jacket for outside, and it does well up to fairly low temps. It keeps the wind out nicely too.

Thus far my write-up. @neph93 no doubt has more to say. I know he has the 22OD and wore the tour jacket 19L OD.

I own the IH-526-22OD and have first had experience of the IH-526L-OD having had two rounds with the world tour jacket.

The first differences that occur to me are:

                                          1. The denim. The 19oz LHT is stiffer when new and has a coarser hand than the even, smooth and somewhat supple 22oz

                                          2. The overdye and fading. The 22oz has a deeper matte black colour at first, it appears more even. The 19oz is a “colder” black. The 19oz fades quickly to white at exposed points, while the 22oz, while also fading quite quickly goes through blue first. I am not far enough along with my 22oz to say anymore.

                                          3. The fit. The difference in length is noticeable. If you are wide across the shoulders and chest the jacket you need can come up quite long. It is great for slender folks and for those who enjoy layering type III’s over shirts. The 22oz is much more traditional in it’s cut, shorter (without being too short), and a nice width too.

Anything else you would you like to know?
