Are you getting one @louisbosco? 🙂

I'm interested in the Rallye model, but I'm studying and working part time, so not sure if I can afford one right now.

not going to lie, i was a little tempted. they had a $10k discount for the first 1000 buyers. but that was only for the base model (still no slouch) as the rallye model is not due to 2021/22

That $10K discount didn’t last very long, did it? 😃

I’m looking forward to seeing what the Rallye model is like when it arrives. (I heard early next year, but with Covid it could slip.)

We’re currently running a cheap, old Ford Fiesta, which we purchased to give Nuru something to learn in, and me something to get back into driving. If we scratch or dent it, it’s less of an issue than with a new car. But it’s comfortable enough to run up and down to Melbourne (over 200 km), so I think that the Yaris GR would be equally as effective.

The only problem with a GR is that Nuru will be on her P plates for a couple of years, so wouldn’t be able to drive it. We’d have to own two cars in that case, and I’m not sure we have a need. Besides, I think that she’d prefer a 4x4 or ute…

it actually lasted longer than i did. i was expecting the slots to sell out like the supra but i guess people were a little skeptic about a yaris and didn't fully understand the mechanics and legacy behind it. think it was only half gone within the first day and it slowly met it's quota within a week. unlike the supra which was gone in hours..

you should tell her to get her licence in WA. we don't have any restrictions on P plates unlike the other nanny states.. a second hand SS ute is also a lovely choice. i do have a soft spot for a commodore anydays..

Now it Audi doing great so far. Best car by far for now

A few years ago @formulapfaff bought a JDM Toyota Celsiur from JapaneseClassics and it’s one of the coolest cars.

I know you guys will love this new addition - a 4wd, diesel Toyota is about as close to perfection as they make!

@brock really cool van. I had a Subaru Sambar mini truck and loved it. Amazing how great those machines run. Mine was a 1996 and didn’t cause me any trouble for the 5 years I owned it. Only issue here in Ontario, Canada is the right hand drive. Very difficult to find anyone to insure them. Enjoy the new ride!

Surely the "Should you buy one?" section could be reduced to one word: yes.

I took a trip to Melbourne last week, and it turned out that one of the Toyota dealers had the Yaris GR in stock, so I went to take a quick look. Didn't get a chance to drive it.

What really surprised me is how light the doors feel. If you are after a VW style clunk, you're looking at the wrong car.

Interior space upfront is good. I'm nearly 6'3" / 190 cm tall, with long legs, and I could fit in. But the rear seats look like they'll only fit babies, and the luggage space is tiny.

I was offered this at a very fair price last week.  It's very original.  I want it so much, but do not have a garage.  I spoke to H about it, his answer  "Buy it and build a garage"…..

I could probably get away with buying the car, I'd get a little bit of shit, but that would pass.  Building a garage would be a fast track to divorce.....
