I got the super deluxe (I think super? The 9LP?) vinyl box set of Tom Petty's Wildflowers, been burning it up. Sounds f'n fantastic on the turntable. I feel like modern pressings can really end up being shit, but they paid very good attention to this one and did it right.

I've been fantasizing about the unreleased Wildflowers stuff since I first heard about it, probably 4ish years ago or more (definitely pre Tom's death). It was worth the wait.

In August 1988 he was killed by a motor vehicle in Houston, Texas, with the official cause of death determined as a case of hit and run accident..

Saw them countless times at various Seedy venues in Leeds

@Baba-san and @neph93 , I saw them live in 1992 at the NEC, and then a couple of times in London in the noughties, probably at the now-demolished London Astoria.

I didn’t catch them on the tour they did in Australia last year. However, I’m currently studying for an MSc at the University of Sydney, and I had a chat with a professor who has written a book about growing up as a goth in Sydney. She’d caught them, and said that old Eldritch isn’t looking too fit these days.
