That’s what I thought as the 19L doesn‘t have that smell. Amazing denim with its brownish weft!

Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. I bought a pair of these, took delivery on 11th July. This is my first time with this type of denim and today is wear day 17 for these.

All went well until days of wear 11. On day 10 night, we went to a birthday party in a club, although I hung the Jean's when I came home, next day the smell of stale cigarette smoke was not nice.

I wore them to do the weekly shop, but still not nice. Decided to soak.

20 minutes in look warm water, yellow tinge in the water, which I think comes from the indigo and hung to drip dry over the bath. The puddles formed under them, were very blue.

After hanging for a couple of hours, they had developed a smell which I think was a cross between stale cigarette smoke and a wet dog…

Washing machine! I had being fighting this for many days. I'm a wear and wash, defo not a wear and wear type.

Anyway, I used laundry liquid for black clothes, on a wool wash. Took 43 minutes, I watched most of it. No sign of yellow or blue.

After they dried : waste; seat; thighs and knees seemed to be back to delivery sizes, leg a little shorter.

Perfect comfortable fit, I'm delighted

I thought i would give a little update, prompted by the lovely pictures above.

Received my Pronto's July 2019 and had no idea about this kind of denim.

After 15 months, 45 days of wear (i know - pitiful), an attempted soak - then went in the washing maching and they have had 4 visits to the washing machine to date.

I am delighted with them, so very comfortable to wear. Unfortunately no real fades to speak of, a few blemishes that dont show up in a picture, maybe next year.

As i have said above, i am delighted with them, so much so, i bought some 25oz in August 

Thanks must go to the IH team for assistance with sizing etc

@JPW Thanks for the update and congratulations on the XHS. I think everyone should wear and wash their jeans as they see fit. There is no wrong answer.

Just got my size 33 pair yesterday and immediately did a warm soak for an hour. Looking forward to wearing these soon (after they dry and I clean the indigo from the shower).

Well that is cool… is that made for purpose or are you using something off label?

Very pleased with the fit. Waist and length both shrunk about 1” after soak. Tag size 33 that was 34.9” Pre-soak and hemmed to 31” by IH. Post soak waist is 33.9” and length is 30.25”. Looking forward to how they fade.

I really enjoy how this denim wears in, your roping being an excellent example. It also does that bruised indigo thing in the early stages, like the 21oz does.

I don’t wear these jeans enough.  I gained my Christmas holiday stone in weight, and my 666’s are just a little tight.  Pulled these out and forgot how nice the denim is to the touch.
