We’re having a super rainy month. Already accumulated four times the average August rainfall. Last four days it has drizzled pretty much nonstop. Soil is supersaturated and last night we got hit by a strong and chilly southern blast which easily toppled a large and healthy tree in our neighborhood. Caused a big explosion/spark as it snagged on the 380 volt lines.
There were about 60 similar emergency calls throughout the city so it took the electric utility crews a while to get to us.
Freaky bit was that for several hours the AC was sparking and running through the soggy tree branches and it would briefly light up in flames. Didn’t get any pics of the best part of the show being afraid of an AC shock with the ground totally flooded.
But we’re back to normal now. Good thing it didn’t happen during an IH sale or coveted product launch as we were off internet for 6 hours! -
Glad you guys are all ok!!

@adam313 was talking to my sister in southern Idaho yesterday and she showed me where the sun was orange and the sky was brown from the fires in California.
Seems like the pace is picking up what with all of the natural disasters that are happening. -
In the dentists waiting room yesterday.
Dad and approx 10 year old son enter the room, dads points to a chair and tells boy to sit on it. Boy ignores him and sits on the floor, which makes me smile.
Boy to me, loudly and with some force "What you smiling at baldy?"
Which makes me laugh…...That was not the right thing to do.
There followed much more invective.
I decided best thing to do was close my eyes and ignore him.
About 2 minutes later "Dad, that mans dead"

I am sort of afraid to use it because it is so powerful. But my Uncle (who is like my Dad) hooked me up with his chainsaw today. I am so grateful to have it. It is meant for a 30+ inch bar but he had a 16" on it. It's like at least 40 years old.
I am quite comfortable using a smaller saw, like the one in the background. This one is like 10 pounds heavier and way more powerful.

It’s hard to beat a Stihl. I have had my 260 Pro for close to 15 years and it still runs great. I mostly use it with a 16” bar, just because that’s what I’m used too. Enjoy and be safe.

Interesting. Most of us are complying to the last line:
Also, you don’t need to wash your blue jeans so damn much. Just saying.

@adam313:
Fuck 2020.
I saw what happened on IG. I’m truly sorry. It’s a double whammy I guess, as it is both a question of damage to your livelihood but also the destruction of something you’ve loved, and nurtured. It must be gut wrenching.
For those unaware, Adam is a cannabis farmer. An entirely legal business in his state in the USA. He has lost crops recently as a result of unseasonal blizzards. The pictures on IG are quite dramatic.
He is refraining (admirably), from being specific about the source of his distress, as we have asked him not to post too many references to his work here. This is because his line of work and the plant he farms remain illegal in many parts of the world and as an international forum we try to tread carefully around these issues.

Adam - Really, really sorry to hear that bro! My thoughts and prayers are most certainly with you old chap!
