Oh I like that one! My last froggie was a snow camo from a lonnnggggg time ago. It was mint and became a bit of a shelf queen as the second hand market went nuts for em. I’d love to have another some time….

I picked up a couple of Montblanc refills for a (Prometheus Lights) pen I own, and somehow got invited to a Zoom conference launching their new 1858 collection.

It turns out that it was being hosted by Davide Cerrato, who is the head of their watch division and was creative director at Tudor when they came up with the Black Bay.

(Incidentally, he recognised my spectacles as being by Kuboraum, and he wears that brand himself, so he's obviously a gentleman of taste! :D)

The highlight of the collection we were shown was the Heritage Split Second Chronograph.

Which costs $36,000 because it comes with this Minerva goodness.

The other thing that stood out for me was the 1858 Automatic 24 Hour, which is around $3K, so somewhat more affordable.

Incidentally, I did ask whether a new version of the Heritage 38 Small Seconds might be coming, and was told that they're working on something for next year. I might have to get saving…

One of the press shots that was shown revealed that the map, numerals, and hand are all lumed, so the face glows green in the dark.

Whilst in Melbourne I found a Ploprof with the orange bezel. I've not seen one of them before (despite being in the Omega catalogue for a couple of years), and it's very cool.

            A Tudor P01, which I really liked.

And an IWC Timezoner Longest Flight. They only made eighty of these, and the salesman in the boutique didn't realise what it was. (I told him that I shouldn't have let him know, so I could get a better discount!)

I'm tempted by the Timezoner, but spending a large chunk of my savings when I'm not working doesn't strike me as being particularly clever…

I like both of those Mont Blancs quite a bit, but the chrono is really spectacular. Just a couple of zeros outside my price range, but still…

I’m with you Chris, that chrono is special for sure. Absurdly priced but beautiful nonetheless.

Hey Graeme, those fineliner refills are awesome!

So I know bronze is popular, but how about a lot of bronze?

If so, those nutters at Oris are there for you.

I'm gonna be interested to see photos of this one in the wild…

Especially if they get you invited to Zoom conferences with Davide Cerrato! 😉

I've not had a chance to try them out properly yet, but they sound good.

I love bronze but that's a bit much. I like my 1st edition Carl Brashear better.

Yep, looks shit now, but give it to me for a year and it'll be a very different thing…..In the summer and Autumn my watch arm is in saltwater almost every day....

But it aint happening.  The PP is getting agonizingly close.......Just got to work out how to get it here from Switzerland......

G-Shock MTG. I work on stainless steel tables in the kitchen so my GX-56 gets more wear to keep from scratching the band, but i love this watch.

It's great that it's solar, but the best part is the resin inserts on the inside of the band to keep from getting sweaty or sticky on your wrist. It's so comfortable on the wrist.

I’m jealous. I was looking at that watch but when I tried it on it looked like I zip tied an instrument cluster to my 6.75” wrist. My wrists are just too small for it.

those MTG g-shocks have been tempting. especially with the other model with the titanium or something @Graeme posted not too long ago..

The new Bell & Ross is very nice. Dare I say Gerald Genta-ish? Not too big either…

I saw one (pretty sure it was that model) in St Thomas last winter and it is impressive. I’m not too sure how popular it is, the dealer was giving good discounts on B&R. [emoji2369]
