The (Less intimidating) Watch Thread

@motojobobo I stole the photo off Worn & Wound. It's not my cuff!

Die to some late night drinking and eBay browsing, I now have a new watch. It's a pretty faithful remake of a model from 1970-71 that I've liked for years, however, the originals tend to be in poor condition and far more than I'm willing to pay. I've already ordered a replacement NATO, as this silicone strap is cool looking, but not especially comfortable.

New to me, SRP655.

Nice! And the world clearly needs more indigo flannels.

Is that the one that’s referred to as the surfboard?
-
Pretty sure it is. Def a cool little number. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yep, that's the one. The originals (there were a couple of regular three handers in addition to the surfboard chrono) were rated to a depth of 666 feet, so they were also called Devil Divers. I think Bulova missed out by not doing the same with the reissue and putting the 666 on the dial.

 Anyone ID this model?

Anyone ID this model? Japanese watch retailer, TicTac 35th anniversary edition.

Have been a mechanical watch admirer / collector for quite some time! The NOMOS Tangente is my every day wear both in formal & casual setting!

Thanks @ijpx
Not too bad of a price point…. i think. Not positive of course since i can’t read the description.
-
Cool thanks. Any chance you have first hand experience?
I think the worn and wound review suggests niceto look at but funtionally perhaps a little over priced.

My new 40mm Hamilton field Khaki arrived today. Got 20% off RRP from an authorised online dealer. Colour and placement of the date window aren't for everyone. I'm swapping the strap out for a Tanner Goods pass through strap, ordered today at another super discount.
-
@Giles if you look closely, the date window slightly pushes the 3 numeral out of line with the rest of the numerals. Some watches completely remove the numeral altogether, some align it. Lots of reviewers aren't a fan of the placement, it doesn't worry me too much as there are more positives to negatives to this watch imo.

Here the date window where it not should be, but I am very very pleased with that stunning watch:

 Seiko sbex003
Dramatically over dimensioned but unexpected comfortable

Runs +5sec per day but completely independent of position…

@Eisenherz that is a solid looking watch. Beautiful. I swapped out my standard Hamilton nubuck strap for a Tanner Goods single pass through. I think it looks very much better. Really happy with it.
