IHSH-96-IND - Waffle Work Shirt - Indigo

First time got Iron Heart shirt. What a fabulous fabric and comfortable. But the measurement is out of spec so I end up sewing both side from armpit to all the way down. I got XS and the waist area should be 18.5 inches but it's almost 20. No problem that I sorted by stitching start leaving 20.2 inches pit to pit, at waist area made it 18 and all the way open around 19. Now is perfect and look much better after altering it right. Also stitched a little the open gap that chain stitch string run through.Over all both sides shrank 1 inch each, total 2 from both waist areas.
I tried soak and wash but it didn't shrink so end up stitching.

ow does this thing breathe? I am considering it for summer wear with sleeves rolled but fear it may be to warm. Any insight would be appreciated.

It's probably not much physically lighter but it will feel lighter and it will breathe a whole lot better….

Don’t know for sure as I don’t have it but I believe size down as it is stretchy. Without looking I pretty sure it has been discussed in this thread earlier, so a trawl through it should help.

You really don't need a whole slew of opinions, you'll get contradictory answers, all you need to do is this:

Measure your best fitting shirt like this

and compare those measurements to those published on the product page. And make your decision based on that.

Xxl it will prob be the. I mostly wanted to hear that it stretched alot or that it didnt. I have read conflicting things in this thread. I overthink shit way too much lol

Here are my measurements for one I bought last year. I’ve washed it three times. Two cold, and one warm wash. The post-wash measurements were taken after wearing a few times since its most recent wash. That’s why the shoulder measurement is the same pre-wash figure.

Shoulder:  18.5 => 18.5
Length:  28.6 => 28.25
Chest:  22.3 => 21.75
Waist:  20.8 => 20.25
Opening:  21.7 => 21.5
Sleeve:  25.25 => 24.75

This shirt is definitely stretchy, but the buttons also tend to slip out, even when not under pressure.

I also agree that it feels quite airy on its own, but if worn under something, it provides a comfortably warm layer.

@jat that is fairly easy to fix, just put a single stitch at the top or bottom of the button hole.
