We watched Galveston this weekend. Very dark and somewhat has the feel of Requiem for a Dream x Leaving Las Vegas. Might be up your street @den1mhead . . . . .

@Stuart.T your hunch is correct. Watched it a while back with the Mrs and gets a 👍 from us.

Going to see the latest Star Wars movie on Thurs at the pictures.

With JJ Abrams back at the helm I am hoping it's better than the shower of shite that was Episode VIII

So far, the sequels have made me nostalgic for the prequels, which I didn't think was possible…

Watching the three first STAR WARS flicks for the first time (EPISODE IV, V and VI that is)… I've seen IV when I was a kid but don't remember much...

Make sure you watch Episode I - III at some point so you don't miss out on the best movie character of all time.

Going to see it on the 22/12. Looking forward to it. It’s Star Wars after all. I have enjoyed ep. VII and ep.VIII on the whole. Not without flaws, but not bad at all, and with enough great moments to keep me happy.

We’ve got our tickets for Star Wars on Sunday! I will just have to avoid the internet for a couple days so I won’t get spoiled. I am pumped. All of the prequels and sequels have been a blast for me. But I’m a super fan. If there’s ships, droids, blasters, aliens, and lightsabers, with cheesy dialogue and a rousing musical score, I’m ALL IN.

Ah! I didn't know films have different titles depending on where it's being released.

Exactly. I'm guessing it was released as "Ford Vs. Ferrari" in the states, as well. The only other time I remember there being two working titles for a film was "Edge of Tomorrow," also known as "Live. Die. Repeat." Something I'll keep an eye out for in the future. And you're right, Le Mans 66 is a great watch. 🙂

It was. Been meaning to see it, but it's probably that I won't until it's available for streaming.

Finally got around to watching Alita Battle Angel last night and found it enjoyable. I went into it not knowing the source material and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't even know Robert Rodriguez directed it either until after the film. It's good to see more Anime/Manga film adaptations being represented in Hollywood too. Can't wait for the live action Gundam movie to hit the big screen  😎

Some of his best, cleverest work imho. I’m re-watching it again tomorrow and can’t wait.

I do understand that people who prefer the darkly comic action and stylised violence of Kill Bill, Django etc won’t enjoy it as much (until the last five minutes of course).

I liked that Tarantino tried capturing the essence of the 60's, much like he did with Jackie Brown and the 70's. I can take or leave Brad Pitt depending on the roles he plays but enjoyed the rawness of DiCaprio's performance more. I'm ambivalent about the Bruce Lee scene. I know some viewers took issue with how Tarantino portrayed Bruce Lee but I chock it up to Tarantino being Tarantino and taking creative license with his image. I thought the guy who played Bruce Lee actually did a great job with his speech and mannerisms.
