Inside out, wash with soap and crank the temperature up a little. I used to fear higher than 30 degrees C and no-spin but quickly realised on the one-washed/sanforised stuff you can blitz it at 60c+ and it's fine.

Get a decent liquid soap in there and it should solve it!

The devil is in the detail..

Cool, thanks guys. I'll start with the most simple- hand wash. If this does not work I'll throw it in the wash again. Problem is, the hot water isn't hooked up properly in the house where I rent a room. Was supposed to be fixed a long time ago but I suppose they "forgot" as they primarily use cold wash.

@Oaktavia The above is quality advice. Just give the thing a damn good wash. They negative thing with washing quality denim with relation to fades is if you wash it all the time. That's what damages evo. Washing your clothes is actually evo, as long as you only do it when necessary. If anything a bloody good wash at 60C with proper soap will accelerate evo. I have an IHV-21 made of this denim and a good wash did wonders.

Should I worry about shrinkage with warm or hot water with the 101J? I have only used very cold water so far to wash and I feel like that is why it smells still after previous wash attempts. Or as before (if you remember) should I stretch out the denim when still damp?

Sorry dude. I’m someone who is prone to sweating and it doesn’t take long for my manly odour to permeate denim. When that happens I wash it. Anything else is weird in my book. I didn’t pay $400 for awesome denim to smell like I don’t know how to take care of myself.

Once washed old chap, you’ll be fine. It will shrink back to where it was when new (all denim does) but won’t go smaller like unsanforised. It will then stretch out again with wear.

Wearing while damp will speed the up, bit I find giving the seams a jolly good stretch by hand while still damp works really well. I’m thinking side seams, sleeves, doing up the buttons and stretching the placket. Then grab the hem in the middle of the back, and the collar and do the same.

Awesome dude thank you for always answering my questions to the fullest extent. I'll blast hot water in the bath tub this evening and throw some dish soap and detergent in with it. Last question: what is a good time frame? Half an hour? Full hour? Until the water goes cold?

Somwhere round 45-60min should be good. Give it a good swish around when it is thoroughly wet and again before you take it out. Then use fresh cold water from the shower head to rinse it off.

Perfect thank you again. That is how I have washed my jeans in the past and they have come out smelling nice. I guess I was just worried about this jacket but I'm not sure why not as it seems all of the same rules apply…?

I do occasionally wash things by hand, and I’d recommend,at some point squeezing the soap through the jacket, especially in the armpit area. I repeat the squeezing at some point during the rinse,to be sure to get all the soap out. Good luck. @Oaktavia

Washed this afternoon. As hot as the tub went for an hour with detergent and dish soap. Smell seemed gone at first whiff.

Hanging dry now. Gave the jacket some pulls while damp. I could feel the denim stretch at every effort I gave it. Maybe will see some evo tomorrow from the wash?

Thanks for the information all that gave it.

It may depend on the deodorant that you wear as well. This may not help with what your going through now, but may help in the future. A bunch of years ago the Airline misplaced my luggage going to Europe. I went out and found this Nivea Anti perspirant. Unfortunately its not sold in the US, but I have found it in Europe and South America and usually stock pile it. When I use it, my shirts alone stay fresh for many wearing's. Also, it doesn't leave crystals in the shirts as many US brands do. There are some similar types now sold, but I don't know why Nivea doesn't sell it in the US,
