The local Omega boutique has just got the Seamaster 1948 Centre Seconds in, despite having told me a while back that it sold out last year. It's a lovely little watch and I'm very tempted.

There's also a platinum version, which looks almost identical, but is gorgeous. However, it's another $50K (Australian), and the differences are subtle. (It's the one on the brown, alligator strap.) For the money, I'd get a Patek Aquanaut Chronograph (if they'd sell me one), or the H. Moser & Cie Vantablack.

I also saw the titanium, tantalum, and Sedna gold Seamaster Diver, which I liked a lot more than I thought that I would.

It comes in a really cool box too.

Congrats. There's nothing like getting your grail watch.

In fact, I'm going to strap on my Seamaster. Hasn't gotten much love lately.

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

@Graeme if you buy the Omega can I buy the box to use as an urn to put my ashes in?

@Filthy I'll bear you in mind. Although given how much I procrastinate about watches, you might pass away first! :o

@Finn666 glad to hear you've made your mind up. Hopefully the Rolex waiting list gods are kind to you.

I spotted a Seamaster 1948 Small Seconds today. They apparently sold out pretty quickly after Baselworld last year, but this was a cancelled order.

                              I'm tempted.

More watch temptation, after I found that the Omega Small Seconds had sold. This time it's a Cartier Santos Noctambule.

That watch is lovely, but if find it almost illegible. Had to look twice to see the hands. Oddly enough, this is also my problem with many g-shocks. I don’t get how all up and down the scale there are pieces whose primary function doesn’t work that well.

Obviously this is a pet peeve of mine that ti get too worked up about.

I wasn't paying much attention to the Noctambule's legibility, but it's not as bad as some skeletonised watches that I've seen. The hands are polished steel, whilst the background is darker.

Whilst it is a lovely watch, you could buy an awful lot of G-Shocks for the same price!
