My contribution to the recent lovely updates. I gave mine it‘s first 40 degrees wash after 120 days of wear.

I think it also comes down to personal preference when it comes to washing after a soak. After the jeans have been laying around in their own filth for several hours I always do like to give them a machine wash to rinse them even further and somehow clean them up. You're right about washing at 30° C, though, as it doesn't result in any significant shrinkage, it's just more like an advanced rinse program. Noticeable shrinkage occurs on temps above.

Predictably, I effed it up with these :-[. The waist is and will forever be mahoosive and I can’t make it work - being a daft cnut I also went and soaked them for reasons unknown, so that’s that.

After year and half machine wash first time, wear them daily five days a week to work. Had the crotch blowout repair from dr denim.. in Manchester..

@Filthy That's a very generous offer mate but they'd be a touch roomy for me. Get them on eBay/Grailed and use the proceeds towards some of the good stuff we're gonna have dropping this year!
