How much will these stretch in the waist? Would it be possible for me to stretch a half inch or so out of the rise? Like if i pull on it while wet or something?

You can expect 1.-1.5” in the waist. Two inches if you’re willing to endure quite serious discomfort.

Vertical measurements don’t really stretch unless they are put under pressure artificially.

Never tried. It would be difficult/impossible to get the whole back section stretched equally, I think. I doubt satisfactory results would be achievable.

I was thinking of trying to gain 1/2 to 1 inch. Maybe i better go with a different cut then.

Do you have a pair of these ? If do what size and what does the front rise measure? Just trying to figure out how accurate the chart is.

One inch wouldn’t happen anyway. The amount stretch and shrinkage in a fabric is proportional to the length of the fabric. So if one inch is obtainable on a 30” waistband then…. um yeah, maths [emoji28]

I have a couple of iterations of 634’s but not these.

The IHUK crew sample a couple or three pairs of every size of everything they get in and use the average for the charts. They are very precise in their measurements so the charts are reliable.

These being made by humans in small batches there is always some variation though. We’re not talking much. I picked up a pair of 888-OD last week and asked the crew to check the waist on all pairs in my size. Of the four or five pairs they measured for me, there was less than half an inch variation each way. I doubt you’d find a pair with an extra inch in the rise but you could ask.

Are you taking your measurements “the IH way”?

Yes I'm measuring the IH way. Even half inch would do. I will do that. thanks you're a pretty helpful dude!

                        No problem, my pleasure.

Half an inch extra may happen. Just drop them an email and they’ll try and find the right pair. The customer service is really second to none.

Have a look at the other 634 iterations also, they tend to come up with differences due to production variables like denim type, factory’s used etc.

Stretching the back rise is easy and happens all the time. Just wear a belt and bend over…voilà..your back rise will stretch. 0.5-1" is very well possible and happens at least with most (if nit all) of my unsanforized jeans. Since the IH 21oz denim is stretchy it will also happen.

Stretching the front rise though...yeah better do it artificially by hand  😃

For what it's worth, the 634S is one of the most consistent models we do, with most pairs being pretty much bang on chart. In terms of front rise variation you're looking at 0.2 max.

The devil is in the detail..

My first 634S 33 arrived here in Japan on Christmas day, and I thought I would be satisfied. Then I ordered a pair of  666S -21 33 and I thought I would be satisfied….. now I am looking at the shirts and wallets. It's a slippery slope, watch out other newcomers like me. I will be heading for rehab before long if I'm not careful!

634s-21s are my own benchmark too. I"m wearing the same jean today but not the exact same one, 'cause that would be weird.  😃

IH makes so many great fits and, luckily, they all work for me.  I think 666 is especially popular but that's the one that somehow works less well.  I'm hoping for an 888, that's what I haven't tried yet.

Also wanted to say that for years I have been trying to find a pair of iron heart jeans that fit me perfectly and there was always something wrong leg opening to big talking 10 inches lying flat, I love the golden 8. Knee to tight, thigh to tight rise to high 1955, rise to low 666, plumbers ass crack when sitting,888 knees to tight, and the rest not having waist over size 40. My body is in perfect proportions except for a little extra in the stomach drink too much mead, Viking size LOL, 6 foot 2 inches, 235 LBS,  42 waists. Most Japanese jeans are sized for Asians, no ass and chicken legs LOL,  Then I found Rail car goods and now I get every pair of IH634S tailored for a perfect fit. They do awesome work for a good price. I am so happy to finally enjoy iron heart 21 oz jeans. Now Iron Heart has to make belts to fit 42 and 44 inch waist you should make your belts up to the largest waist size you produce.UHF fit perfect XXXL, I have amassed a collection wear them all winter. Sorry for the rant, too much mead, LOL.

Haraki never used to line the rear pockets of the OG products.  Only when I started speccing jeans and requesting lined pockets did it happen.  The IH-634S, never had lined rear pockets and still does not because we have not revisited the original design. At some point, we may, but that is a Haraki decision.
