How/where did you get all of those. I was under the impression that they weren’t supposed to be officially released until tomorrow. My guy sold me an advance of the only one that my state is getting. Just the general bourbon stout. It was delicious. Did you have the reserve? I couldn’t tell from looking at the bottles.

We spent the day at my brothers. He got all the beers from a friend. They are all supposed to be released today, but retailers have been sitting on them for a while. The green and gold label was a reserve. I think it's the same beer, just some different barrels.

One of the reserve beers was allegedly aged in Elijah Craig barrels the year it was named whiskey of the year. I especially like drinking bourbon barrel stouts when I also like the bourbon that was in the barrels the beer was aged in. I like to think it makes a difference, but I can’t imagine I could taste it. Does make it more fun for me.

Then, drinking a Weldwerks Chocolate Coconut Achromatic in Zion National Park with a buddy in town.

This is super delicious. Don’t see a lot of Bourbon Barrel Porters. Don’t get much Pecan flavor and just enough of the bourbon barrel.

Speaking of which, I’ve cut my beer budget drastically in order to fund some high end purchases (from a certain Japanese denim brand and American jewellery brand, so no surprises there).

Been looking at quality to volume to price ratio and have discovered that my basic beer needs are covered by Yeti Imperial Stout which fits the above description and is cheap as chips, Saison Dupont which represents authentic Belgian quality and eccentricity for ridiculously few beer tokens, and Stone Ruination double IPA which isn’t all that but is miles more cost effect than any other DIPA you care to mention.
