This is one of my son’s flannels. I’d like to see a uhf in a similar colorway. Or is this too close to the ihsh-37?

I'm lucky this way, I can wear denim to work.  But I try to dress it up a bit and often look for a heavy duty white Oxford.  Gitman does a good job, the better of the Brooks Brothers is okay but not what it could be.  What it could be is Iron Heart.  Maybe it's too far from work wear but that's what I should wear to work–-an Iron Heart white Oxford with a perfect roll collar button down, the real deal.  Just an idea.  Thanks for having me.

It's a good idea and not the first time it has been suggested. In fact IHUK were looking at starting a line of formal/semi-formal shirting (see here: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11087.0). Samples were made but the project is currently on hold.

I believe that Haraki-san made an IH Oxford shirt way back when too, you can browse the extinct section to check. The white chambray work shirts that pop up from time to time, combined with newer denim and a maybe a vest, do a pretty good job of being "business casual", for those of us who can get away with it.

The point being, while there may not be much available now, something will show up at some point.

I always throw my hat in the ring when this topic comes up. I (still) think a semi-formal vest will be a popular item. Pike Brother’s does a decent job here but the quality isn’t that of IH.

I still think an IH wool sports coat like below would be awesome, and fit into the brand's aesthetic. But please use 2way zips if you ever do  😉

It would be lovely. Although the Melton wool m65s hanging around in the Outlet may suggest that this isn’t a popular fabric at the moment. Which btw is utterly ridiculous as those jackets are quite phenomenal. The cut is amazeballs while the wool manages to be both warm, water resistant, beautiful and smart all at the same time. Go figure.

I think that wool M65 is my favorite IH outerwear of all time but my closet is so full.

Selvedge, heavy melton wool, water resistant, and in an M65–I thought it would be gone before I could blink.

I wasn’t able to pick it up upon release but made it a priority when summer was over and the sale in Septmeber tipped my hand.

It’s seen its first few days wear this weak as the temps are down around 4-8C. It really is everything you anticipate it being. The way it’s finished means it has all the badassery of a regular m65 but comes off as being quite smart too.

I like that sports cost idea although I dread to think what the costs involved with indigo dying wool are. The black and/or grey of the IHW-13 would be sufficient in my opinion.

Indigo wool would be cool but I think black is a safe bet. Would love if it had storm cuffs as well (I believe that's the norm tho).

Re: wool potentially not selling well - part of me thinks that might just be the m65. There have been a lot of M65 offerings as of late, so people may have had other iterations. Plus, wool is often seen as a more "formal" outerwear fabric, so I wonder if people thought the fabric and design didn't mesh.

I saw woolen awards jackets in the outlet as well. Don't know what is driving the lack of interest, but there was not disjointedness in materials and cuts as far as I'm concerned in the Melton M-65. Didn't the denim one do well, or at least pique a lot of interest? If anything, that seemed more disjointed to me.

That’s very true. While an actual USM woolen m65 has probably never been a thing, a denim one certainly hasn’t. Also, wool is a military field jacket staple in Scandinavia and the UK. The vintage Norwegian m43 analogues in wool are beautiful.

There are some fantastic m65 iterations coming from IH in the FW18/19 season, in some very relevant fabrics (duck for example 🤤). Wool is also making another appearance soon as a peacoat and there’s no better match than that. Exciting times for jacket fans.

There are lots of grey, black, & navy wool outerwear options out there. There are few or no indigo options.

Indigo-dyed cotton is great, but it obviously doesn't have the same characteristics as wool and it's not as useful outdoors (at least here in Seattle…) Now, waxed indigo cotton... hmm...  :-\

Another medium weight unbrushed flannel work shirt - eg IHSH-201 in a different colourway - would be great - 201 is really versatile weatherwise.
