Random Rants

This one goes out to my fellow Texas residents:
Torchy's Tacos isn't worth the hassle. The food quality to wait time ratio is terrible.
The one at Basse has gottn hit or miss on food quality. I talked to the manager about it Tuesday after sending the queso back 3 times for being cold. and the Brushfire taco’s NOT having any jalepeno’s on them.
one more trip like the last and i’m done.

Yup, that's the one.
45 minutes to get a couple of cheese quesadillas.

On the bus from Mildenhall to Heathrow, and this lady keeps making phone calls… Not like quiet, considerate calls... Like, Drill Sergeant barking orders at dumb Privates loud.....
And now, I think she's eating crisps, but it sounds more like a garbage disposal grinding bricks.
She should have been chastised. Severely. At movies I've stood and bellowed STFU and it works like a charm.
Though I don't know how that would fly in the UK…Might end up on the side of the road watching the bus roar off -
Moved into our new house three weeks ago. Seller renovated from the studs and redid the foundation as well as installed a french drain to keep water out.
Last night, during Hurricane Gordon, our downstairs flooded with water over 700+ square feet of brand new flooring.
Not sure weather to cry, scream, or just give up.
So im currently drinking a beer at the cafe around the corner…

man, sorry to hear. Will insurance cover the damage?
-
@Appfaff forgive me for being trite, but it will pass.
When we moved from the Blizzard of 79 in Chicago into the Easter Flood, our brand-new, supposedly non-floodplain house was underwater–we hadn't even moved in yet.
Somehow, some way we got through it, even though it was devastating at the time.
Gonna be a huge pain in the ass, but you'll come out the other side just fine!

Thanks guys - my insurance agent knows if they screw me over I’ll never send a single client to them in the future, so they have been easy going this far. One benefit of being a realtor in a small town.
It will get fixed I’m sure, but we are beyond pissed. Thankfully I have the top pros in the area working to ensure nothing like this happens again.
I don’t even have a damn fridge upstairs yet, where will I keep my beer? Lol
Thankful for neighborhood bistros

@Appfaff sorry about your misfortune. I just saw this, or I wouldn't have bothered you like I did. Best wishes to you brother.

Sorry Adam.

Oh, that sucks. Sorry to hear it, Adam.
Sounds like time to do some re-grading. French drains are not great for serious rainfall, imo.

It was just pictures of jeans seems pretty trivial compared to what you're currently going through.

Sorry to hear Adam, hope it all gets sorted quick enough.

I was in the college cafe opposite the building where I work, watching the world go by…every single young guy I saw was wearing a tracksuit or jogging suit, with the hood up. Not one single pair of jeans, and there were dozens of them. I found it fascinating. Not one of them had an ounce of originality in what they were wearing...JD Sports is clearly thriving.
The youth are meant to be revolting...but they are bland, their music is bland, and their style is bland. 90% of young people, you are pathetic.
At least my little fella l9ves his denim and skull and crossbones tees, and 'heavy rock and roll' which is how he refers to death metal...he's only 3. Proud dad.

Maybe they’re revolting against revolting? #mindblown

Personal preferences aside, are jeans more original than track suits? Jeans are pretty much the vanilla of casual pants: been the "default" pant for a long, long time. The form changes (skinny, baggy, low rise, high rise, stone wash, acid wash, raw) but the ones most of us wear only look original in the sense that they resemble heritage variants of the form.

My thoughts exactly.
