How about sewing a nice patch over it to cover the repair?
Thanks again for the excellent suggestion! I am much happier about the repair because of it.

I did a DIY overdye on my 777 blk with Simplicol „Samt Schwarz“ from the local drugstore. It came out really great. The colour is very even (looks better than on the picture).
Unfortunately the leather patch became very hard. Oiling it didn‘t help. I’m afraid it’s gonna break. Any tips or ideas?

@UnTucked if you don't mind sending me your address. I can throw a few of these Chicago screws in an envelope and send them to you if you want. They are just like Iron Heart uses. Edit…I should say for absolutely free.

Okay. It's one of those things when you need 2 but you have to buy 50. You could put the other back in of you just go through the old hole with a small drill bit or nail. Nice sewing job by the way. Edit.. oh I see that is the front. I was thinking it was the back…

I need to replace the leather patch of my 777. Any tips on hot to sew it on? What type of thread and needle did you use? Hand or sewing machine?
