Not sure they will ever allow that. In testing the people are fully sober and watching the road as normal aren't they ?
Plus there is a video I seen of one being tested and the car ran someone over dead and the tester was being filmed in car. The tester went through the legal system but it was found that they were awake, sober and watching the road but did not have reasonable time to react.
I think that is how it will go down in the future. After all you cant stop people walking onto roads suddenly and the police will want to know if the operator could have avoided it.
Yep probably drivers will at least in the near term be the failsafe–I thought of that post post.
There will be a lot of alarmism as more self-driving cars kill people, but they will inevitably outperform human beings in that regard.

I caught the Greyhound from LA to Utah
I once rode a Greyhound from Flagstaff to Las Vegas, and two things stand out about the experience. First, in the bus station there was a large wall clock with a sign directly affixed to the face that said, "Yes, this is the correct time." Second, a guy got kicked off in Laughlin after he started a fight, thus missing his party in Vegas to celebrate his release from prison.

i'm not sure how i feel against self driving cars.
at the moment i'm well against it. and not just from a car enthusiast background. but self driving cars do create a lot of legal what ifs and extensions into things that we have no precedence for. you can take away the human side of driving and yet technology do fail in certain scenarios. not to mention it's only the driving you're taking the human input away from. you can't remove human input or error on the sidewalk, cross junctions and stuff.
it creates this new aspect as to 'who's to blame' as you cannot legally charge AIs at the moment. they're not 'a person' in the eyes of the law.

It’s definitely a big part of their design aesthetic/image. There’s text everywhere. I can see why those who dislike overt branding get put off.
EDIT: Been thinking about this today. It's a valid opinion, as it is a matter of taste. There's a lot of GAH stuff without obvious text branding though (excluding the rosette motif). Of the eight seperate pieces I wear daily (two rings, three pendants, a BLB, and two chains), only the pendants and the BLB have text branding visible on them.
Personally I'm a sucker certain types of branding, especially when it is well integrated into the item in question. I love the chains with text branding on every damn link for example.
Your unpop op has me visualising hard what GAH would be like if they dropped it entirely. My conclusion is less interesting (to me at least). Good post.
