I’ve been drooling over these British tan Jobmasters since I saw them on IG the other day. The proportions are great.
-
I agree 99%. The leather, height, mid and outer soles all look wonderful, but I just can’t get on with the heavy stitching on the regular toe Jobmasters.
Only time I’ve seen it and thought it worked was when the boot had a more modern profile with gloxi cut soles. But that isn’t my thing either.

Will pick up my Special build today. So excited! Unfortunately temperatures over 30°C are not making it possible to wear them right away.

^Looking forward to seeing these Flo^

So I made what is essentially a new boot:
Foot Patrol with Boss Toe, double mids, 705 sole.
To me it looks like a hybrid between a 50s Bump Toe service boot and a packer.

Ker-fekkin-boom! I do love a well styled work boot and that’s what this is. Great vision @Appfaff. I like roughout/smooth out contrasts, I love the heel/midsole/outsole combo and I adore the contrast of the big old bump toe with the clean, short shaft.
Which leather is it? I want to guess brown domain but I think that’s all gone.
Either way, cracking stuff.

Thanks guys - it’s the Brown Roughout with smoothout tongue and heelpull.
I will say, I had two pairs of 9.5E wescos (Morrison and Packer) that never quite fit me well, but these 10D are a dream.
When I emailed Alex about them back in Feb, I said I wanted a service boot that wasn’t dainty. Something you could wear with 9-10” leg openings and have them lay well. My favorite all time boots are the IH BOT, IH Smokejumpers, and 1943 Boondockers, so those were my inspiration.

After looking at the leathers, these are brown domain. Perhaps me ordering in early february when the leather was still available is why..
My other thing I wanted was a beefy boot that looked good with slim jeans. I always envied how great @neph93 ‘s 555-03 looked with his smokejumpers, and I think these achieve a similar aesthetic

Funny you should mention the Smokejumpers as they came to mind straight away. Also, having got my hands on the IHWE-5 the roughout brown domain is very similar to the roughout used on the Smokejumpers in both colour and texture.
These will serve you well and look great at the same time. Again, lovely bit of design speccing. Bravo.

Such a sick makeup. What’s the height on the heels +1 or +2 lifts? I’m thinking of the same makeup but with all smoothout British tan or possibly the new lighter chestnut brown oil tan leather. I’d have to do double midsoles with a 10 in height since I already have so many ankle to mid range boots. I’m loving the height of my stock Jobmasters being 10 in.
-
I had them specced with 1 lift higher than standard, and with the double midsoles, it measures 8 heel layers, the 705 sole, and two midsoles. They are quite high, but a dream to stand on.

I have a routine when introducing new stuff (which she does not know of these yet)
1. Wear for a while without her seeing and make them look not new
2. Wear them nonchalantly with stuff she sees all the time.
3. If she says something, I’ll say, I got those old boots resoled, they are much better now don’t you think?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
