Ok, I took some measurements today- the jeans needed a wash, so they received a careful bath, and all dried out, the waist measured 18", front rise is 10 3/4", rear rise is 15", and the thigh is 12", all measurements taken following the Iron Heart instructions!

Whoa, thanks for the measurements. 12” thigh is way too tight for me. No can do. I’m surprised they’ve shrank that much, actually.

It might be a good idea to double check because that sounds like over an inch of shrinkage, and at this stage of the game I don’t see how that could happen. I wore them about three months ago and I couldn’t wear a 12 inch thigh even when I was 15 years old.

I'd have to agree with rechecking the measurement. I had them, late last year, and the thigh was at 12.75"(washed), before I sent them off to @DrBabyhorse . With the amount of wear and washing this pair has been through, over the past 2+ years, I'm certain all shrinkage was achieved some time ago.

Ok, I've rewatched the helpful video on how to measure, checked the phase of the moon and the tide charts, got plenty of sleep, and took a B12, and yup, looks like I messed up the initial thigh measurement.  It's 12 5/8" inches.  Or 12.625" for those who fancy mixing up the English system with decimal points.
Either way, I must've had a brain fart, so my apologies!  @sabergirl , might that work better for you?  Thanks @Giles and @scooter for the heads up!

The World Tour jeans have arrived! Thanks, Adman. These have come a long way since I had them last. I’ve also gained about 15 pounds. I can wear them, and the softness of then denim makes it bearable, but I’m afraid I might speed up a crotch blowout. Mia is obsessed with her ball. I’m obsessed with denim.

Thus far not much to report on the tour. Yesterday, I did my usual afternoon dog-walk in the neighborhood before work.I was diagnosed with MS in December. This led me to need a less physically demanding job than serving, or bar tending, so now I’m a concierge at the Inn on the Biltmore Estate. I just started a couple months ago. It’s a Forbes 4 diamond property, so we’re pretty fancy. I’m not supposed to bring my phone onto the floor, but I snuck some pics during my shift, yesterday. Here’s the back of the Inn, by the employee entrance: Part of the mountain view from there: I wasn’t actually doing my own job for most of yesterday, I was stuck covering for our PBX operator, which means I spent the majority of the shift tucked in this horrible fluorescent corner wrangling this spaceship of a phone: Not my favorite. Truthfully, the whole gig is pretty boring  and terrible, but I haven’t worked in like 4 months, so I’m going to hang onto this job for a while to get some new resume fodder. At least I normally sit at a desk out in this beautiful (if terribly old-fashioned) lobby: Here’s another view of the lobby from up on the mezzanine: I know the pics are shite, but I’m terrified of getting caught with my phone out; it’s a very strict policy. Anyhoo, this morning I had a doctor’s appointment, which is sort of a common feature of my life these days. This particular office is a weird throwback to the 60s—the practice has been there for a looong time. Then I got lunch with my mom. Snapped a mirror selfie for my first fit pic of this leg: The jeans are tighter than I would like across the hips and seat, I’m sort of scared I’m going to rip them getting in and out of the car. Fit looks fine, just feels constricting. Maybe wearing them will be inspiration to lose the weight I gained recovering from surgery. I have to go back to work in an hour or so. More updates to come!

Very sorry to hear about the MS though. Strangely I have two colleagues who developed it very recently.

Not too personal, just not much to report. Thus far my symptoms have been very mild. I had a hysterectomy in September, and during my recovery from that I was having more dizziness and loss of equilibrium than one would expect from anesthesia. I was also feeling strange on the right side of my body; trouble standing and getting started with walking, muscle weakness, trouble writing. Needless to say, this was scary as shit, so I went to a neurologist. She did an mri on my brain, and lo and behold, there are lesions in there which can be indicative of MS. I have a family history of it, so felt pretty confident accepting that as my diagnosis. I’ve been taking a DMD (disease modifying drug) since January, with minimal side effects. Fortunately, it’s a pill: no injectables or infusions, yet. I have to have my blood tested regularly to make sure the drug doesn’t send me into liver failure.

I feel pretty good, most days. Fatigued and tired, all the time. I do get killer muscle cramps and spasms, and sometimes feel weak or stumble or slur my speech (even when I’m not drinking: fun!). Anyway, I’m taking it day by day. Fortunately Marcia’s job provides us with health insurance, though she’s miserable at it, which is a bummer.

There’s no way of knowing how MS will progress. It effects everyone differently. So far I’m one of the lucky ones!
