@Haddtoo 555 Where did you get those repairs done?

@madmonday top hole is next to the repair and usable and you’re right….ugly.

@DrPat Chris is right….when Rain worked at SESF, the other was right after she left. They must have gotten someone better or that person has grown given the opportunity. I’m glad the pants weren’t a nice pair . It’s been a couple years . I’m over it
they are good enough to finish them off .

That's what I suspected. A few years ago I got a horrible repair job done at SENY (I'm not sure if the different SE stores used the same person). There were balls of hard thread where the darning changed direction and they ripped into my thighs like a cheese grater. I had to have a patch installed over the darning to make the jeans wearable.
When I was in SENY a few months ago the staff was bragging that they have the best darners. I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to give them another chance.

I would give them a try….I’m sure the void has been filled . My problem was the patch, but that damm darning didn’t help either

I think you'll need to patch that, otherwise it will continue to fray. I'm not an expert, though.

@Joule here's a repair I did.

If you look at the subsequent messages below I explain how to do it.

I just noticed a loose thread on my Ihj-17. What's the best way to stop the unraveling? I am considering a drop of crazy glue on the corner of the diamond and just cutting the thread as its not visible when the collar is down. Or should I just take it to the tailor or try to stitch myself?
Thanks -
My very old, battered IHSW-23 ripped at the collar as a result of the wear and tear caused by years of forcing my shiny dome through it. I took it to my seamstress with the offcuts from my IH-634S-21BLK and had her do a job (and sew a patch on at the same time. She just sent me a picture of the results. I’m looking forward to picking it up tomorrow.
EDIT: Just need to pimp it a little more: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11522.msg554202;topicseen#msg554202

Took my pair of MF “speedways” to my tailor. The pants had snaps on the side instead of belt loops. I thought I would give them a try because the denim looked nice. I couldn’t live without a belt. Had the tailor hem them and add loops with the cut material. I think they turned out great.

They look awesome!

A waist button repair on my IH-708. Turned out much better than I had hoped. Never thought Id be so happy to accomplish a button repair. Haha.

^ good job. I like the way that wearing this gear encourages us to make repairs ourselves and learn the skills to do so.
I’ve always been able to do rudimentary sewing since I was a teenager and sewed band patches on denim. Later I started fixing my favourite items of clothing. Now I’m looking at the most effective methods of fixing crotch blowouts and even concerning myself with stitch count and aesthetics (although my work is still fugly [emoji1]).

Thanks neph93.
Speaking of ugly repairs, I also "repaired" this item. I wasnt planning on posting this one but what the hell… I cut this brand new item while unpacking it... Doh!
Gift for my father. Already lovingly repaired, and full of character I guess.
